국어 관용어 지도 방안 연구 : 고등학교 국어를 중심으로 = (A) Study on Idiom Teaching Plan : Focusing on Korean of High School

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Idiom is the most implicated and effective means of expression that the society of that language has created and the ability to learn the idiom properly serves as a basic foundation for use of Korean language. I believe that effective learning of idioms could help students to comprehend Korean traditional culture and express their ideas more effectively.
Despite it, most studies on ideology have focused on theory so far and the education of idiom in school education has failed to position itself. Based on such problem, this study expanded the discussion as shown below to collect and analyze the idiom shown in Korean textbook of high school students and to explore the effective teaching plan.
1. Precedent studies describe the studies of idiom focusing on Korean education. While studies on idiom have been carried out steadily since 1960, they were all theoretical ones. It was after 1990 when idiom was fully studies in terms of Korean education to the contrary. It was found out that there was almost no studies on idiom for high school students compared to elementary and high school students.
2. Idiom in curriculum have appeared steadily from the Korean of 6th year of elementary school to high school, while the terms lack of consistency. In addition, there was no education on idiom in Korean textbook of high school, causing the problem that the education on idiom carried out by the 8th year was not connected in 9, 10th year. In idiom in textbook, I extracted the lists of idiom and analyzed the data. This study could examine and analyze how many idiom Korean users know and use at present through examination on current status of idiom education and used it as a data for education on idiom.
3. This study examined the goal and contents of education on idiom based on problem and necessity of education on idiom and prepared the lists of idiom for study. Through this, it was possible to develop the model of idiom study and to implement the teaching method of various kinds of idiom that can be utilized in the field. Concrete teaching plan was presented in separated aspects of 'understanding' and 'expression' for effective teaching method.
The basic premise of my study is level-based moving class which is desirable type for the effective education. I believe that the teaching method for Korean idioms of my study could be applied for the actual classes.
I hope this study will be of some help in newly forming curriculum and compiling textbook accordingly where educational value and importance of idiom are indicated through the problem and improvement plan of idiom education mentioned earlier.
