This study investigates the dimeusious of evaluation of today's school education. Evaluation of today's school education can be said to be the effects of education during a fixed period of time. that is, diagnosis of how much intellectual change and behavioural change has been achieved in an individual and confirmation of this achievement level. Accordingly, this paper studies directions for improved physical education and the tools necessary to draw up such a program for the realization of the goal of enjoying a healthy livelihood through physical activity.
Chapter 1 of this thesis is the introduction, chapter 2 deals with the theoretical background, chapter 3 treats the status of physical education and educational evaluation, and chapter 4 is the conclusion. To be more specific, first, the importance of evaluation is considered and the trends and problems of present physical education evaluation are thoroughly reviewed. Next, the training goals of instruction are logically stated and the desirable teaching materials are chosen and classified as to their aid in the intellectual, emotional, and mental activity categories for the evaluation of educational achievement levels and the tools for physical education evaluation are draw up on the basis of the results of the fore-going research. Training evaluation must be treated in the dimension of diagnosis of the training evaluation of the trainees and so as to bring about significant results in the area of curriculum instruction. the ultimate goal of education is to produce individuals who can live as desirable members of society. According, the goal classification levels have been divided into intellectual, emotional, and mental activity areas.
In this way a different evaluation standard has been established and at the same time is reqarded as a tool of evaluation.
At present in Korea research in the theory of physical education evaluation is directed only at scholars. As of yet most guidance instructors are unfamiliar with the theory of evaluation and mainly lean toward measurement only in the area of mental activity. Therefore, it should not be forgotten that, among the factors obstructing education, evaluation holds a position much higher than was previously though, and that there is much anticipation for the attamment of efficieucy of more desirable instruction with respect to evaluation and the understanding of the concept of definite goal classification for instructors.
