북한이탈 청소년의 적응유연성에 관한 연구 = A Study on Resilience of North Korean Refugee Adolescences in South Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 북한이탈 청소년들의 적응유연성 관련 변인들을 도출하고 이러한 변인들이 문화적응에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 10-29세의 북한이탈 청소년 193명을 최종분석한 연구이다. 연구결과 북한이탈 청소년들의 문화적응 수준은 유형별로 큰 차이는 없었으나 주변화형이 가장 많고, 적응유연성 수준은 주변화형에서 통합형으로 갈수록 통계적으로 매우 유의미하게 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 북한이탈 청소년의 문화적응에 영향을 미치는 적응유연성의 하위변인으로 의지·영적·지지유연성이 매우 중요한 요인임을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 이를 토대로 한 북한이탈 청소년들의 새로운 지원방향 및 정책방향이 요구되는 바이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In order to overcome the lack of in-depth analysis and substantial research about Berry’s acculturation theory, and the limitations of the perspective of nation-centrism and cultural absolutism used in the previous research on North Korean refugee adolescents in South Korea, this study aims to illuminate the resilience of the North Korean refugee adolescents and its effects on their acculturation. The study utilized a purposive and snowball sampling to collect North Korean refugee adolescents aged 10-29 living in the entire area of South Korea. 193 questionnaires were finally used for the data analysis. The questions were composed of three scales which are the socio-demographic characteristic, the cultural identity of South and North Korea, and the resilience. The data analysis was conducted through SPSS/WIN 13.0 Statistics Package. The results of this study are as follows. First, acculturation level of North Korean refugee adolescents was identified based on Berry’s acculturation theory: 46 people categorized into the integrated type, 44 people into the assimilated type, 50 people into the separation type, 53 people into the peripheral type. Second, the levels of resilience according to the types of acculturation showed the highest in the integrated type and the lowest in the peripheral type. Third, the factors affecting the acculturation of the North Korean refugee adolescents were the economic living standard, the will resilience, the support resilience, the spiritual resilience and the strong resilience.
