청소년의 감정표현불능증, 정서인식 명확성이 신체화 증상에 미치는 영향: 정서조절곤란의 매개효과 = The Effects of Alexithymia, Emotional Clarity on Adolescent's Somatization : Mediated Effects of Difficulties in Emotional Regulation

Difficulties in emotional regulation has recently been considered as one of the important psychological factors to affect the somatization. The purpose of this study was to examine the among alexithymia, emotional clarity and somatization in adolescents, and the mediating role of the difficulties in emotional regulation. A total of 922 middle school students in Gyeongbuk, Busan, South Korea participated in this study. Participants completed questionnaires assessing alexithymia (20-Item Alexithymia Scale: TAS-20), emotional clarity (Trait Mata-Mood Scale : TMMS), difficulties in emotional regulation (Korea-Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale: K-DERS) and somatization (Symptom Checkist-90-Revision : SCL-90-R). Major findings of this study were as follows; First, somatization had a significant positive correlation with alexitymia and difficulties in emotional regulation. Second, difficulties in emotional regulation partially mediated between somatization and alexithymia. Third, difficulties in emotional regulation partially mediated between somatization and emotional clarity. These results represented that adolescents who have somatization need the therapeutic intervention to make them recognize their emotion clearly, express their emotion, and control their emotion effectively.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

신체화 증상에 중요한 영향을 미치는 심리적 요인으로 정서조절곤란에 대한 관심이 최근에 급증하면서 정서조절곤란의 관점에서 신체화 증상을 설명하려는 시도들이 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 청소년의 감정표현불능증과 정서인식 명확성, 신체화 증상간의 관계를 살펴보고, 정서조절곤란의 매개효과를 살펴보는 그 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 경북, 부산지역의 중학생 922명이며, 감정표현불능증 척도, 특질-상위 기분 척도, 정서조절곤란 척도, 신체화 척도를 사용하여 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 신체화 증상은 감정표현불능증, 정서조절곤란과 유의미한 정적 상관을 나타냈다. 둘째, 감정표현불능증과 신체화 증상간의 관계에서 정서조절곤란이 부분매개효과를 나타냈다. 셋째, 정서인식 명확성과 신체화 증상간의 관계에서도 정서조절곤란이 부분매개효과를 나타냈다. 이 결과는 청소년의 신체화 증상에 대한 치료적 개입방법으로 자신의 정서를 명확히 인식하고, 표현하도록 하며, 효과적인 정서조절을 할 수 있도록 도와주는 것이 중요함을 시사한다.
