대학도서관열람실의 공간구성에 관한 건축계획적 고찰 = (A) Study on the Space-Composition of Reading Room in the University Library in terms of Acchitectural Planning

This study is investigated by the theory on learning on the construction pattern of library, which is focused on opening type of reading space admitting bookshelves and reading space in the same place.
The aim of this study is to prepare the basis of reading space to cope with the circumstances of university library effectively.
According to the change of modern library, its composition, function and characteristic are investigated by general survey.
And each pattern of composition space and single space affecting the space composition of reading space is examined by the survey of library materials and books interested and the current analysis and circumstances of reading space of university library which has been used till now.
And for the sake of systematic space composition of systematic space composition of desirable library reading room, the proportion and width of reading seats and the increase in students reading activity and the plan for environment of reading space, which influence the maintenance of books available, is investigated in this study.
And bookshelves and systematic structure module of reading seats are shown on the basis of body size and man's action size. The comprehensive conclusion of this study is as follows.
① The width proportion of reading space in university library to be surveyed is from 40% to 30%, In terms of the width proportion of reading space of university library, having function of maintenance and lending out is judged desirable. The proportion of reading seats per student in K university is 25.6%, It exceeds the proper standard, 20%. And the rest of universities are average 14.5%. It is less than the standard.
② Whereas seats width per man of proper reading space is from 2.8㎡ to 2.5㎡, seats width per person of university library investigated is less than standards. It is why reading seat is arranged only in the fixed and closed pattern separating reading seats with bookshelves.
③ It is good to separate reading space with non-reading space which does not use books. In the case of arranging the space for non-users ingo library, reading space and moving line are separated by this method. Such a space must be changed into reading space when the necessary part of reading space increases later.
④ It is shown that it's desirable to arrange reading space in order to operate the function of books, and structure module capability of changing bookshelves and reading space effectively is 6.9m Grid at the result of analysis of arrangement about the ability of book keeping and desks for reading, which is based on the size of man's body and action.
⑤ Through bringing plants as a wall in the interior of opening type of reading space, reading space increases. And by establishing electric room in the door. noise can be decreased and energy be saved. In addition to the below mentioned study result, the new study of library construction following the mechanization of library task which will use computer and machinery in the future is requested to be done as soon as possible.
