시부모와의 갈등에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 - 여성가족패널을 중심으로 - = Factors Contributing to Conflicts between Daughters-in-Law and Parents-in-Law

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The aim of this study was to identify factors contributing to conflicts between daughters-in-law and parents-in-law by examining the comparative influence of socio-demographic factors, factors of interaction with family of origin, and relationship with spouse. For this purpose, descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were conducted using the first year of panel data provided by the Korea Women's Development Institute.
The results identified that the factors of interaction with family of origin had more influence than socio-demographic factors, and the factor of relationship with spouse showed significant influence on the conflict with parents-in-law, even after controlling the influences other factors.
On the basis of the results, it was suggested that the women's relationship with spouse and her own family of origin should be improved in advance for the prevention and alleviation of the conflict between daughter-in-law and parents-in-law. Other suggestions for the practice and policy were also discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 시부모와 며느리의 갈등 실태를 살펴보고 인구사회학적 특성, 원가족 상호작용 특성, 배우자 상호작용 특성이 시부모와의 갈등에 미치는 영향력을 파악하고자 하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 여성가족패널 1차년도 자료 중 2403명의 자료를 활용하여 기술 분석, 상관관계 분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다.
연구결과 시부모와의 갈등에는 인구사회학적 특성에 비해 원가족 상호작용 특성의 영향력이 더 큰 것으로 관찰되었고, 인구사회학적 특성과 원가족 상호작용 특성의 영향력을 통제한 상태에서도 배우자 상호작용 특성은 시부모와의 갈등에 주요하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 관찰되었다. 또한 모든 변수의 영향력을 통제한 상태에서도 결혼년수, 시부모 동거여부, 본인 부모와의 갈등, 결혼만족도는 시부모와의 갈등에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향력을 갖는 것으로 관찰되었다.
연구의 결과를 바탕으로 한 실천적 함의로써 시부모와의 갈등 예방과 완화를 위한 노력의 중심에 부부간의 관계 강화와 본인 부모와의 관계 강화가 필수적으로 고려되어야 한다는 점을 제시하였다. 또한 시부모와의 갈등을 완화하기 위한 프로그램이 결혼 초기에 제도적으로 접근되어야 한다는 점과 부부관계와 시부모관계, 본인부모관계를 개선하기 위한 실천적 제도적 대안들을 제시하였다.
