        Geometry Information-based Practical Device Identification for Local Device-to-device Communication

        Local device-to-device (D2D) communication between two smart mobile devices is becoming increasingly popular. The first key step in starting a D2D communication is to discover and identify the remote target device to establish a link. However, existing device discovery mechanisms either require users to explicitly identify the ID of the target device or rely on inaccurate beamforming technology. This paper presents two novel device identification algorithms using a variety of embedded sensors. The algorithms only require that users to point two devices towards each other. This paper describes the algorithms, analyzes their accuracy using analytical models, and verifies the results using simulations.

        Relationship between psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers and their organizational commitment

        The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers and their organizational commitment. The subjects of this study were 230 social welfare facility workers in OO city, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. Analysis was conducted using the SPSS program, including frequency analysis, reliability analysis and correlation analysis, and regression analysis on the causal relationship between variables. The results of the study showed that the psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers had a meaningful effect on their emotional commitment, continuous commitment and normative commitment. These results confirmed that the higher the psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers, the higher the sub-factors of organizational commitment, such as emotional, continuous, normative commitment, resulting in positive effects on the achievement of goals and values that are pursued by the welfare facilities. This study aims to become foundational data for the improvement of working conditions to improve psychological wellbeing of social welfare facility workers to increase organizational commitment.

        Comparative Analysis of Protocol Test Sequence Generation Methods for Conformance Testing

        본 논문은 프로토콜 구현물이 프로토콜의 사양에 대한 적합성을 시험하기 위한 시험항목 생성방법들에 대하여 비교분석 한다. 대표적인 방법들인 천이 순회, 구별 시퀀스, 특징화 시퀀스, 유일 입출력 시퀀스와 변형된 이들 방법들을 분석하고, 유한 상태 기계 모델에 적용한 위의 방법들의 시험항목 길이를 비교 및 분석 한다. 결론에서는 프로토콜 적합성시험을 위한 시험항목 생성방법들에 대한 핵심적이고 분석적인 이슈 사안들을 다음과 같이 제시한다. 천이 순회 방법은 최단의 시험 항목을 생성하지만 최악의 오류 검출 성능을 제공한다. 특징화 시퀀스 방법은 완벽한 오류 검출 성능을 제공하지만 상대적으로 최장의 시험 항목을 생성한다. 구별 시퀀스 방법의 문제점은 이 구별 시퀀스가 항상 존재하지는 않는다는 것이다. 유일 입출력 시퀀스 방법이 비교적 폭넓게 적용될 수 있지만 구별 시퀀스 방법과 동일한 오류 검출 성능을 제공하지 못한다는 문제점이 있다. In this paper, a survey of test sequence generation methods for testing the conformance of a protocol implementation to its specification is presented. The best known methods proposed in the literature are called transition tour, distinguishing sequence, characterizing sequence, and unique input/output sequence. Also, several variants of the above methods are introduced. Applications of these methods to the finite state machine model are discussed. Then, comparative analysis of the methods is made in terms of test sequence length. Finally, conclusions are given as follows. The T-method produces the shortest test sequence, but it has the worst fault coverage. The W-method tends to produce excessively long test sequences even though its fault coverage is complete. The problem with the DS-method is that a distinguishing sequence may not exist. The UIO-method is more widely applicable, but it does not provide the same fault coverage as the DS-method.

        Bridge Resistance Deviation-to-Period Converter for Resistive Biosensors

        A bridge resistance deviation-to-period (BRD-to-P) converter is presented for interfacing resistive biosensors. It consists of a linear operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) and a current-controlled oscillator (CCO) formed by a current-tunable Schmitt trigger and an integrator. The free running period of the converter is 1.824 ms when the bridge offset resistance is $1k{\Omega}$. The conversion sensitivity of the converter amounts to $3.814ms/{\Omega}$ over the resistance deviation range of $0-1.2{\Omega}$. The linearity error of the conversion characteristic is less than ${\pm}0.004%$.

        Effect of Psychological Characteristics on Job Performances of Workers at Residential Homes for the Disabled

        The purpose of this research was to analyze the effect of psychological characteristics on job performances of workers at residential homes for the disabled. For the study, a survey was conducted on 170 workers at residential homes for the disabled in Gyeongsangbuk-do (Sangjoo-si, Andong-si and Yecheon-gun) from the 7th of October to 11th of November, 2016. For the analysis, SPSS WIN 18.0 and Amos 21.0 programs were used to conduct t-test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis at a significance level of 5%. The research results were as follows. First, it was found that the psychological characteristics of workers at residential homes for the disabled vary significantly upon their work loads. Second, the differences in job performances of workers at the residential homes for the disabled with their general characteristics were analyzed: it was revealed that the job performance of the workers varies significantly with their education levels, positions and monthly incomes. Third, the job performance of workers at the residential homes for the disabled was found to be having positive correlation with their psychological characteristics as follows: self-esteem (r=.363, p<.001) and self-efficacy (r=.275, p<.001), while having negative correlation with depression (r=-.267, p<.001). This paper is required to be used as a primary source for political development on the enhancement of the psychological characteristics of workers at residential homes for the disabled.

        A FAST ALGORITHM FOR REGION-ORIENTED TEXTURE CODING

        This paper addresses the framework of object-oriented image coding, describing a new algorithm, based on monodimensional Legendre polynomials, for texture approximation. Through the use of 1D orthogonal basis functions, the computational complexity which usually makes prohibitive most of 2D region-oriented approaches is significantly reduced, while only a slight increment of distortion is introduced. In the aim of preserving the bidimensional intersample correlation of the texture information as much as possible, suitable pseudo-bidimensional basis functions have been used, yielding significant improvements with respect to the straightforward 1D approach. The algorithm has been experimented for coding still images as well as motion compensated sequences, showing interesting possibilities of application for very low bitrate video coding.

        Low-Frequency Haptic Interface Developed for Electrical Safety Experience Education

        Electric shock due to the increased use of power, equipment accidents, electrical accidents, such as electric fire and also continues to grow. To prevent electric shock accidents, an experience education is more effective than indoctrination education. But an electric shock experience education system required a proper physical stimulation on human body to experience electric shock. In this study, we conducted a study to take advantage of the realistic haptic interface using a low-frequency type experiential learning and prevention education. Results of this study could be applied to an electric shock experience education system.

        Fire Detection System Using Arduino Sensor

        Recently various types of disaster monitoring system using smart-phones are under active studying. In this paper, we propose a system that automatically performs the disaster and fire detection. Additionally we implement the Arduino-based smart image sensor system in the web platform. When a fire is detected, an SMS is sent to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency. In order to improve fire detection probability, we proposed a smart Arduino fire detection sensor simulation which searches the smart sensor inference algorithm using fuzzy rules.

        RGB Motion Segmentation using Background Subtraction based on AMF

        Motion segmentation is a fundamental technique for analysing image sequences of real scenes. A process of identifying moving objects from data is a typical task in many computer vision applications. In this paper, we propose motion segmentation that generally consists from background subtraction and foreground pixel segmentation. The Approximated Median Filter(AMF) was chosen to perform background modeling. Motion segmentation in this paper covers RGB video data.

        Effect of Social Support on the Job Performance of Workers at Care Facilities for Elderly

        The purpose of this research is to analyze the effects of social support on the job performance of workers at care facilities for elderly. For the study, a survey was conducted on 176 workers at care facilities for elderly in Gyeongsangbuk-do from the 5th of September of 5th of November, 2016. For the analysis, SPSS WIN 18.0 and Amos 21.0 programs were used to conduct t-test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis at a significance level of 5%. The research results were as follows. First, the level of social support on the workers varied depending on their marital status, religions and years of service, while no difference was found for different genders, ages, education levels, positions, monthly incomes and workloads. Second, the job performance of the workers varied with their marital status, with the married workers performing at higher level then single workers. Third, it was found that the job performance of workers at care facilities for elderly has positive correlation with the level of social support. This paper is required to be used as a primary source for political development on the job performance of workers at care facilities for elderly.
