        This examines the overall traditional cultural aspect of the parent-child conflict, reciprocal action involved and copying of the conflict to understand how the parent and child each perceives these actions in an analytical perspective. The subject of this study was eight pairs of first or second year high school students and their mothers. At least three interviews were conducted on each student and mother pair using the qualitative study method. The results of this research can be summarized as follows. First, the different types of conflicts between mothers and their adolescent children can be classified as conflicts in academic achievement, territory of personal life, discrimination based on gender, and relationships with friends. Second, most adolescent children used avoidance to cope with conflict situations with their mothers. Others made deals to get what they wanted, or resolved conflicts through dialog, letters, and e-mail. Third, when faced dith a conflict with their adolescent children, most mothers used persuasion as or made the children to give up something in return for letting them have something they want. In other cases the father intervened. Though few in numbers, some mothers used letters or e-mail to resolve conflicts.

      • 청소년의 인터넷 활용이 자아정체감에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

        The purpose of the present research was to provide basic materials for groping for the methods that promote adolescents' self-identity through the utilization of the internet. After scrutinizing the actual conditions of adolescents' use of the internet, this study examined the effect of adolescents' family environment, friendships, and use of the internet on their self-identity. Specifically, the present research sought to explore the utilization of the internet by sociodemographic and family environment variables, the effect of background variables on the psychological variable, as well as the relative effects of background variables and the internet-related variables on the psychological variable. The major findings of the study were as follows: The effect of the various variables on adolescents' self-identity showed that the higher the levels of school record, communication with fathers, communication with mothers, intimacy of friendships, and the use of the internet, and the lower the degree of the internet addiction, the higher the level of self-identity. The findings of this research indicate that the level of internet utilization and its addiction among family environment-related variables exerted significant influence on self-identity. This implies that the proper use and guidance of the internet is crucial to adolescents' self- identity, and the use of the internet needs to be guided by families, schools, and communities.

      • 노인교육의 실버산업화를 위한 기초연구

        Education for seniors is absolutely necessary for a senior to gain public acceptance for his decency and value as a human being, and live his improved quality life as a human being. Current education for seniors in this country, however, is being limited to help them kill their leisure time and falls for short of fulfilling various and high-grade desires of seniors with educational and financial backgrounds substantially improved compared to the past. Under such scenario, education for seniors needs to be shifted to a silver industry run on benefiter-pays-principle. That is to say, such measures should be aggressively promoted as means to industrialize education for seniors, as the ones wherein firstly, professional scholars in seniors systematically run seniors-related specialized courses in colleges, secondly private corporations provide distance education through cable channels exclusively for seniors and thirdly, silver books, silver videos and tapes containing various contents of education as seniors, may prefer should be available in the markets. Under the circumstances, however, what comes most important to position education for seniors as a major part of silver industry is to properly analyze seniors' educational desires and provide the contents of education which will fully meet seniors' educational desires. I will attempt to analyze realistic needs of seniors and to seek concrete approaches for education for seniors as silver industry.

      • 도시주부의 생활예절수행이 가족응집성 및 가정생활만족도에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of performance of living proprieties on family cohesion and Family satisfaction, centering on house wives in the lives of Korean housewives. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The practice of life propriety was shown to be relatively high in house wives. The variables that affected this level were as follows: perceptiveness to the importance of propriety, self-esteem, perceptiveness to resource reasonableness. 2. Family cohesion and family satisfaction revealed a relatively high level. The variables affecting the family cohesion were self-esteem, perceptiveness to resource reasonableness, age, perceptiveness to the importance of propriety. The variables affecting the family satisfaction were self-esteem, perceptiveness to resource reasonableness, perceptiveness to health, gender-role attitudes, income, perceptiveness to the standard of living, fare orientedness. 3. The degree of the practice of life propriety significantly affected family cohesion and family satisfaction. 4. On the family satisfaction, the result showed the practice of life propriety were lower figures compared to the family cohesion. The important variables affecting the Family satisfaction were self-esteem, perceptiveness to resource resaonableness, perceptiveness to the importance of propriety, degree of the practice of life propriety. In addition, it was found that the most significant variable that influenced family satisfaction was family cohesion. Future research is needed to expand its focus on the practice of life propriety in the area of family resource management. More concrete and specialized family life education programs should be developed for the benefit of building healthy families.
