      • STUDY OF SOLO SONATA NO.1 BWV1001 BY J.S. BACH : Technical Problems in Violin Playing

兪光穆 曉星女子大學校 音樂文化硏究所 1992 음악문화연구 Vol.1 No.-

Interpertational and technical problems in the playing of J. S. Bach's Solo Sonate No.1 for violin,BWV 1001. In view of the fact that there are many different interpretations of this piece, ac-cording to the different views of various performers, it has been objectively studied by the author using reference books and recognized editions of Bach's music. Analysing special bowing techniques, the treatise looks at detache, legato, basic and wandering bowing, retaking, back-springing, and ondule bowing; The techniques are used to produce special effects. Though the chords themselves are not in high positons. They are very difficult, and care must be taken to reproduce them accurately, following of course the composer's intention by observing the slurs. Because of Bach's rare use of dynamics the performer is largely left to himself in this respect, so the treatise spends some time on the question of dynamics, as well as dealing with temp. rythm, arpeggios, polyphony, and ornaments. The ornaments of Bach in this work are subject to many different interpretations, so it is very useful for the performer to have a reference book as a good guide when confronted with such problems. In order to make an objective analysis of this piece, it was necessary to listen to interpretations by various performers.

        윤진영,황경익 曉星女子大學校 音樂文化硏究所 1998 음악문화연구 Vol.3 No.-

This study in designed to inquire into the Suzuki Method that has been world-widely spreaded for the practice of early talent training, especially for infants and children and now arouses music-oriented people's keen interest. In addition, this study includes in its objectives exploring Suzuki's educational philosophy, principles of learning, and teaching method. Subsequently mention is made of the related references. Resultant findings and conclusion made through a field study are as follows. Edrcational Philosophy : Human talents are not inherent. They can be developed as has been the case with the language. Any technique may be explored in a similar way to that of speech. For that purpose, environment plays an omportant role. With the environment in which a language could be leant, a talent can be fully developed. Principles of Learning : The application of the principles used when teaching a language is reffered to as "mother tongue learning". To effectively perform such a method of learning as this is applied a principle of arousing strong impulse to do something, i.e., the principle of destitution. Not merely praising but encouraging the learners may be appropriately utilized. On the basis of his educational philosophy and principles of learning, Suzuki suggests five rules as follows : 1) Training shall be conducted as early as possible. 2) Repetition shall be multiplied. 3) Educationally desirable formation of environment is needed. 4) An excellent teaching method shall be utilized. 5) Learning from aneminent instructor is recommendable. The Suzuki's talent education methodology has been ameliorated by his colleagus, then leading to establishing Sato cello School and Suzuki piano School, where was initiated the use of sizes of musical instruments suitable for the physiques of infants. The Suzuki's philosophy and principles of learning began with his applicating them to talent training through violin, now expanding them not merely to the instruction of cello, Piano, and Flute. But to foreign language training, painting and various field. Korea Talent Education Institute headquarted in TAE JEON CITY.
