Purpose: This study investigated the relationship between the number of days that hospital visits were postponed and changes in clinical parameters due to the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), after the Japanese government declared a state of emergency in April 2020. Methods: Regarding the status of postponement of appointments, we analyzed the patients who had visited the Nihon University Hospital at Matsudo for more than 1 year for supportive periodontal therapy (SPT) and classified them into low-, moderate- and high-risk subgroups according to the periodontal risk assessment (PRA). Clinical parameters for periodontal disease such as probing depth (PD), full-mouth bleeding score (FMBS), full-mouth plaque score, periodontal inflamed surface area (PISA), and periodontal epithelial surface area (PESA) were analyzed in 2 periods, from October 2019 to March 2020 and after April 2020. Correlation coefficients between days of deferral and the degree of changes in clinical parameters were calculated. Results: The mean age of the 749 patients was 67.56±10.85 years, and 63.82% were female. Out of 749 patients, 33.24% deferred their SPT appointments after April 2020. The average total of postponement days was 109.49±88.84. The number of postponement days was positively correlated with changes in average PD (rs=0.474) and PESA (rs=0.443) in the high-risk subgroup of FMBS, and average PD (rs=0.293) and PESA (rs=0.253) in the highrisk subgroup of tooth number (TN). Patients belonging to the high-risk subgroups for both FMBS and TN had a positive correlation between postponement days and PISA (rs=0.56). Conclusions: The findings, the spread of COVID-19 appears to have extended the visit interval for some SPT patients. Moreover, longer visit intervals were correlated with the worsening of some clinical parameters for SPT patients with high PRA.

It was earlier reported that $[(OH_2)(terpy)Mn({\mu}-O)_2Mn(terpy)(OH_2)]^{3+}$ (terpy = 2,2':6',2"-terpyridine) (1) adsorbed on layer compounds catalyzes water oxidation to $O_2$ (J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2004, 126, 8084). The derivative with 4'-chloro-2,2':6',2"-terpyridine (Clterpy), $[(OH_2)(Clterpy)Mn({\mu}-O)_2Mn(Clterpy)(OH_2)](NO_3)_3\;(2(NO_3)_3)$ was synthesized and characterized by UV-visible absorption spectroscopic and magnetic susceptibility measurements. 2 is instable in aqueous solution at room temperature, but the stability of 2 in solution significantly increased at $5^{\circ}C$. The reaction of a 2-mica adsorbate with $Ce^{IV}$ in water produced a significant amount of $O_2$, although the reaction of 2 with $Ce^{IV}$ in a homogenous solution did not. However, the maximum turnover number (TN = 0.52) of 2 on the mica adsorbate was less than unity, indicating the non-catalytic $O_2$ evolution by 2 on mica in contrast to the cooperative catalysis by 1 on mica with TN = 15. The kinetic analysis showed that $O_2$ evolution follows first order kinetics with respect to 2 adsorbed on mica, with the first-order rate constant given to be $6.8{\times}10^{-5}\;s{-1}$. The first order kinetics can be explained by $O_2$ evolution involved in the unimolecular decomposition of 2 adsorbed on mica, which might be ascribed to the destabilized higher oxidation state of 2 due to the electron-withdrawing chloro-substitution.
A Revision of the Scrophulariaceae in Korea

日本 東京大學, 京都大學 및 自然史傳物館 그리고 韓國 서울大學校 農科大學附屬 冠岳樹木園에 所藏된 植物標本을 바탕으로 지금까지 玄蔘料植物에 대하여 分類學的으로 硏究한 結果를 다음과 같이 要約 하였다. 개종용속(Lathraea)은 그 外觀上의 類似性으로 인하여 列當科로 취급한 傾向이 많았으나 本屬植物은 2실 자방으로 되었고 名室에 2개씩의 胚珠가 들어있음으로 玄蔘科에 넣은 것이 타당하다고 지적하였다. 꼬리풀속(Veronica)을 Veronica, Pseudolysimachion 및 Veronicastrum등 3속으로 分離하는 타당성을 재강조 하였고 외풀속(Vandelia)은 밭뚝외풀속(Lindernia)으로 통함시켰고, 변종이상의 분류군에 대한 檢索表를 만들어서 識別의 據點을 提示함과 동시에 分類群에 대한 文獻의 所在를 밝혔다. 分類學的인 所見은 全的으로 山崎가 硏究한 結果에 依하였다.

Two new fungal metabolites with pressor effect, avellanine A and B, were isolated from Hamigera avellanea and their structures were found to be cyclo-(N-methyl-D-phenylanyl-D-alanyl-L-isoleucyl-2-aminobenzoyl-L-prolyl) and cyclo-(N-methylphenylalanyl-alanylvalyl-2-aminobenzoyl-prolyl), respectively.
3D/BIM Applications to Large-scale Complex Building Projects in Japan

This paper introduces recent applications of three-dimensional building/construction data modeling (3D) and building information modeling (BIM) to large-scale complex building construction projects in Japan. Recently, BIM has been utilized as a tool in construction process innovation through planning, design, engineering, procurement and construction to establish a front-loading-type design building system. Firstly, the background and introduction processes of 3D and BIM are described to clarify their purposes and scopes of applications. Secondly, 3D and BIM applications for typical large-scale complex building construction projects to improve planning and management efficiency in building construction are presented. Finally, future directions and further research issues with 3D and BIM applications are proposed.
