Grubbs-type, Hoveyda-type, cyclic alkyl amino carbene (CAAC)-based ruthenium olefin metathesis catalysts were used for the acyclic diene metathesis (ADMET) polymerization of 2,7-divinyl-9,9-di-noctylfluorene (DVF). Additionally, various ratios of DVF and 2,20,7,70-tetravinyl-9,90-spirobifluorene (TVSF) were subjected to ADMET polymerization to obtain polymers P1–P7. Polymers P1–P4 were analyzed with gel permeation chromatography, UV–vis spectroscopy, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. As the TVSF ratio increases, polymers exhibit lower solubility but a narrower band in the photoluminescence spectrum. Polymer light-emitting diode (PLED) devices were fabricated with polymers P1, P2, and P3. The performances of the PLED devices indicated that polymers including more spirobifluorene blocks showed better turn-on voltage, brightness, current efficiency, and power efficiency.
해운대 해수욕장에 설치된 해파리 차단망의 수중 안정성 분석

The worldwide abundance of various jellyfish appears to have increased in coastal ecosystems in recent years. The enormous jellyfish blooms cause a variety of problems for the local ecology, fisheries, and aquatic-sports in coastal locations. In this study, jellyfish sting protection net was installed to ensure the safety and reduction of the inflow into the Haeundae beach. In order to confirm the stability of the protection net, the tension for protection net was measured from variation of current speed. The periods for maximum tension were observed correspond to the periods of maximum current speed. The maximum tension for protection net was measured up to 4,100 kg. From field evaluations, the jellyfish sting protection net has demonstrated to stability from the current and tide in the Haeundae beach.
Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS Science Product를 활용한 지표면 온도 유용성 평가

본 연구에서는 최근 USGS에서 공개한 Landsat 8 Collection 2 Level 2 Science Product (L2SP) 위성 영상을 이용하여 국내 지표면 온도를 산출하였고, 기존 Landsat 8 Collection 1 Level 1 Terrain Precision (L1TP) 위성 영상을 활용하여 산출한 국내 지표면 온도와의 비교와 기상청 종관기상관측자료(Automated Synoptic Observing System, ASOS)와의 검증을 통해 L2SP 기반 지표면 온도 자료의 국내 영역에 대한 적합성을 평가하고자 하였다. L2SP는 연구 및 분석에 용이하도록 Landsat 8 Collection 2 Level 1 데이터를 기반으로 만든 Level 2 자료로, 기존의 계산식을 통해 산출해야 하는 지표면 반사도 자료와 지표면 온도 자료를 계산 처리 없이 바로 사용할 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 2018년부터 2020년까지 3년간의 Landsat 8 지표면 온도 산출물과 관측소 지점 8개소 주변 3×3 격자 영역과의 비교한 결과, 8개 관측소 기준 L2SP 지표면 온도와 L1TP 지표면 온도의 평균 피어슨 상관계수(Pearson correlation coefficient)는 각각 0.971, 0.964로 두 자료 모두 상당히 강한 양의 상관관계를 보여주었으며, RMSE (Root Mean Square Error)의 경우 각각 4.029℃, 5.247°C로 L2SP 지표면 온도 자료가 더 낮은 RMSE를 보여주는 것을 확인 하였다. 이는 관측소 위치별로 값에 차이가 생길 수 있지만 평균적인 지표 결과를 보았을 때, L2SP 지표면 온도 자료가 L1TP를 통해 산출되는 지표면 온도 자료와 비교했을 때 준수하거나 그 이상의 정확도를 보여주어 국내 지표면 온도 산출 연구에 적합하다고 판단된다. 따라서 향후 계절적 요인과 고도에 따른 온도 차이 등의 환경 및 지형적인 요인도 고려를 하거나, 본 연구 과정에서 발생한 Science Product의 고정적인 영상 품질 문제 등이 개선된다면 보다 더 안정적이고 정확도 높은 지표면 온도 참조 자료로써의 유용성이 클 것이라 판단된다. Recently, United States Geological Survey (USGS) distributed Landsat 8 Collection 2 Level 2 Science Product (L2SP). This paper aims to derive land surface temperature from L2SP and to validate it. Validation is made by comparing the land surface temperature with the one calculated from Landsat 8 Collection 1 Level 1 Terrain Precision (L1TP) and the one from Automated Synoptic Observing System (ASOS). L2SP is calculated from Landsat 8 Collection 2 Level 1 data and it provides land surface temperature to users without processing surface reflectance data. Landsat 8 data from 2018 to 2020 is collected and ground sensor data from eight sites of ASOS are used to evaluate L2SP land surface temperature data. To compare ground sensor data with remotely sensed data, 3×3 grid area data near ASOS station is used. As a result of analysis with ASOS data, L2SP and L1TP land surface temperature shows Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.971 and 0.964, respectively. RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) of two results with ASOS data is 4.029℃, 5.247°C respectively. This result suggests that L2SP data is more adequate to acquire land surface temperature than L1TP. If seasonal difference and geometric features such as slope are considered, the result would improve.

BACKGROUND: We examined the effects of amrinone and dobutamine on regional mechanical function, coronary blood flow (CBF), and myocardial oxygen consumption (MVO2) in normal and stunned myocardium in an open-chest canine model. METHODS: Dogs were instrumented to measure aortic and left ventricular pressures, pulmonary and left anterior descending (LAD) coronary blood flows, and subendocardial segment length in the region supplied by LAD. Incremental doses of either amrinone (2~10microgram/ml of LAD flow, n=13) or dobutamine (0.05~0.375microgram/ml of LAD flow, n=14) were directly infused into a coronary artery before (normal) and after a 15 min of LAD occlusion and subsequent 30 min-reperfusion (stunned). Percent segment shortening (%SS) and percent post-systolic shortening (%PSS) were evaluated. Myocardial extraction of oxygen (EO2) and lactate (Elac) was calculated. RESULTS: Amrinone or dobutamine in the normal myocardium caused dose-dependent increases in %SS that were comparable (range, 20~40%) but had no effect on %PSS. MVO2 increased in parallel with %SS for both amrinone and dobutamine. With amrinone, CBF increased more than MVO2, resulting in a modest decrease in EO2, whereas with dobutamine, CBF increased in proportion to MVO2, resulting in no change in EO2. After the ischemia and reperfusion, %SS and Elac were reduced, but similar %SS and CBF responses to both agents were observed, except that both agents caused progressive reductions of %PSS. CONCLUSIONS: These results indicate that both amrinone and dobutamine exert positive inotropic effects in normal and stunned canine myocardium. It is also indicated that amrinone causes direct coronary vasodilation, which is not affected by ischemia and reperfusion, while dobutamine has no direct effect on coronary vascular tone in either normal or stunned myocardium.

Recently enterprises are forced to outsource globally to meet diverse needs of customers and a short life cycle of products. For the global outsourcing it is indispensable for OEM and venders to collaborate for design and development of products. In this paper ECSC(Engineering Collaboration Service Center) is proposed to support the collaboration between OEM and venders. The ECSC is comprised of drawing distribution system, part data search system, and CAE analysis system. Once geographically dispersed engineers take part in the workplace of ECSC, they can share and distribute the engineering data and drawings in real time through the Web. Implementation of the ECSC in OEM and venders can reduce largely the time and cost required for their engineering business.

Background and Objectives: Atrial tachycardias (ATs) from noncoronary aortic cusp (NCC) uncovered after radiofrequency ablation for atrial fibrillation (AF) are rarely reported. This study was conducted to investigate the prevalence and clinical characteristics of NCC ATs detected during AF ablation and compare their characteristics with de novo NCC ATs without AF. Methods: Consecutive patients who underwent radiofrequency catheter ablation for AF were reviewed from the multicenter AF ablation registry of 11 tertiary hospitals. The clinical and electrophysiological characteristics of NCC AT newly detected during AF ablation were compared with its comparators (de novo NCC AT ablation cases without AF). Results: Among 10,178 AF cases, including 1,301 redo ablation cases, 8 (0.08%) NCC AT cases were discovered after pulmonary vein isolation (PVI; 0.07% in first ablation and 0.15% in redo ablation cases). All ATs were reproducibly inducible spontaneously or with programmed atrial stimulation without isoproterenol infusion. The P-wave morphological features of tachycardia were variable depending on the case, and most cases exhibited 1:1 atrioventricular conduction. AF recurrence rate after PVI and NCC AT successful ablation was 12.5% (1 of 8). Tachycardia cycle length was shorter than that of 17 de novo ATs from NCC (303 versus 378, p=0.012). No AV block occurred during and after successful AT ablation. Conclusions: Uncommon NCC ATs (0.08% in AF ablation cases) uncovered after PVI, showing different characteristics compared to de-novo NCC ATs, should be suspected irrespective of P-wave morphologies when AT shows broad propagation from the anterior interatrial septum.
A Pseudobipolar Junction Transistor for a Sensitive Optical Detection of Biomolecules

<P>A new optical sensor system, called the pseudo-bipolar junction transistor (BJT) optical measurement system (PBOS), based on a pseudo-BVceo of the BJT is proposed by adding a back-to-back connection of a laser diode (LD) (or an LED) and a p-i-n photodiode (PD) in the conventional optical measurement system operated in the photoconductive mode. A back-to-back connection of two optoelectronic devices and illumination of the light from the LD to the PD generates an optical current gain in the PD. It is similar to the current flowing mechanism in the BJT under the base open condition, in which the forward emitter-base junction current generates an electrical current gain in the base-collector junction. Similar to the negative differential resistance (NDR) after BVceo of the BJT, the NDR is observed in the PBOS. Operating the PBOS in the NDR region, the system can provide much higher sensitivity and lower limit of detection compared with the conventional optical measurement system in the photoconductive mode with a p-i-n PD. We show a mathematical model of the sensitivity of the PBOS to the transmittance of the optical path and our initial data for glucose detection as a potential application of the system.</P>
