Leader-following Consensus of Nonlinear Multi-agent Systems via Reliable Control with Time-varying Communication Delay

        K. Subramanian,P. Muthukumar,주영훈 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2019 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.17 No.2

This paper investigates the consensus problem of continuous-time leader-following nonlinear multi-agentsystems with time-varying communication delay via reliable control. The parameter uncertainty is assumed to bebounded in given compact sets. With certain assumptions on the dynamic nonlinearity and underlying topology, the sufficient conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) by using a suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF). It is ensure that the leader-following consensus can be achieved under the proposedreliable control scheme. Finally, numerical simulation results are presented to demonstrate the theoretical results.

Optimization and experimental investigation in bottom inlet cyclone separator for performance analysis

        Seenivasan Venkatesh,Murukesan Sakthivel,Muthukumar Avinasilingam,Subramanian Gopalsamy,Eswaran Arulkumar,Hari Prasanth Devarajan 한국화학공학회 2019 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.36 No.6

The chemical engineering industries are utilizing the bottom inlet cyclone separator with venturi for separating the particles from an air/gas medium. For improving the performance of this equipment, important geometrical features such as venturi inlet width, total height of the cyclone and body height of the cyclone are considered for optimization. Central composite design was used in response surface methodology (RSM) to fit the regression equation. This regression equation was evaluated by analysis of variance (ANOVA). Then, this polynomial equation was optimized by particle swarm optimization (PSO) for minimizing the cut-off diameter. These optimized results were compared with genetic algorithm (GA) results. Based on this optimized result, an experimental setup was created for validation purpose. The experimental results were compared with GA and PSO results. A good agreement was obtained between these results. The magnesium particles were utilized for predicting the cut-off diameter of the new design. The Stokes number of this new design was less when compared with the mathematical model. The new design gives better performance when compared with the mathematical model. The numerical simulation was executed for predicting the particle collection efficiency, cut-off diameter and flow pattern inside the cyclone. The results were compared with the mathematical model and venturi inlet tangential entry cyclone.

The Outcome and Complications of the Locked Plating Management for the Periprosthetic Distal Femur Fractures after a Total Knee Arthroplasty

        Ashok S Gavaskar,Naveen Chowdary Tummala,Muthukumar Subramanian 대한정형외과학회 2013 Clinics in Orthopedic Surgery Vol.5 No.2

Background: The osteosynthesis of the periprosthetic fractures following a total knee arthroplasty (TKA) can be technically difficult with the relatively small satisfactory outcomes and the high complication rates. The purpose of the study is to analyze the mid-term radiological and functional outcomes following the locked plating of the distal femur periprosthetic fractures after a TKA. Methods: Records of 20 patients with a periprosthetic distal femur fracture following TKA treated by the locked plate osteosynthesis were retrospectively evaluated. The union rate, complications and functional outcome measures were analyzed. Results: Successful union was achieved in 18 of the 19 patients available for the follow-up. The mean follow-up was 39 ± 10 months. Significant reductions (p < 0.05) in the range of motion and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Arthritis Index (WOMAC) scores were evident in the follow-up. Secondary procedures were required in 5 patients to address the delay in union and the reduced knee range of motion. The osteosynthesis failed in 1 patient who underwent a revision TKA. Conclusions: The satisfactory union rates can be achieved with the locked plate osteosynthesis in the periprosthetic distal femur fractures after TKA. Prolonged rehabilitation coupled with the un-modifiable risk factors can decrease the activity and satisfaction levels, which can significantly alter the functional outcome.
