Electronic Structure and Bonding Configuration of Histidine on Ge(100)
Hangil Lee,윤영상,Sena Yang,Soon Jung Jung,김세훈 대한화학회 2010 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.31 No.11
The electronic structures and bonding configuration of histidine on Ge(100) have been investigated with various sample treatments using core-level photoemission spectroscopy (CLPES). Interpretation of the Ge 3d, C 1s, N 1s, and O 1s core level spectra being included in these systems revealed that both the imino nitrogen in the imidazole ring and the carboxyl group in the glycine moiety concurrently participate in the adsorption of histidine on a Ge(100) surface at 380 K. Moreover, we could clearly confirm that the imino nitrogen with a free lone pair in the imidazole group adsorbs on Ge(100) more strongly than the carboxyl group in the glycine moiety by examining systems annealed at various temperatures.
Effects of Hydrogen Partial Pressure in the Annealing Process on Graphene Growth
Jung, Da Hee,Kang, Cheong,Kim, Minjung,Cheong, Hyeonsik,Lee, Hangil,Lee, Jin Seok American Chemical Society 2014 The Journal of Physical Chemistry Part C Vol.118 No.7
<P>Graphene domains with different sizes and densities were successfully grown on Cu foils with use of a chemical vapor deposition method. We investigated the effects of volume ratios of argon to hydrogen during the annealing process on graphene growth, especially as a function of hydrogen partial pressure. The mean size and density of graphene domains increased with an increase in hydrogen partial pressure during the annealing time. In addition, we found that annealing with use of only hydrogen gas resulted in snowflake-shaped carbon aggregates. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and high-resolution photoemission spectroscopy (HRPES) revealed that the snowflake-shaped carbon aggregates have stacked sp2 carbon configuration. With these observations, we demonstrate the key reaction details for each growth process and a proposed growth mechanism as a function of the partial pressure of H2 during the annealing process.</P><P><B>Graphic Abstract</B> <IMG SRC='http://pubs.acs.org/appl/literatum/publisher/achs/journals/content/jpccck/2014/jpccck.2014.118.issue-7/jp410961m/production/images/medium/jp-2013-10961m_0007.gif'></P><P><A href='http://pubs.acs.org/doi/suppl/10.1021/jp410961m'>ACS Electronic Supporting Info</A></P>
A Study on the Enhancement of Voice Match Based on Spectral-Contents Analysis
Hangil Kim,Kiman Jang,Hoe-Kyung Jung 한국정보통신학회 2015 2016 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE Vol.7 No.1
Researches on voice analysis have been in progress to verify the integrity of the original audio data. However, the spectrogram currently used or the technique for analyzing the frequency waveform has a problem of low accuracy in determining the voice match. In this paper, through voice analysis methods using the spectral content, we propose a method that can be performed and prove it by analyzing each individual’s unique audio-frequency shape and determining whether the voice is matched. Results for voice analysis and matching determination are to present a solution to voice-related disputes and crimes. In the IT industry, they are considered to have a wide range of applications in technology using a speech recognition device or a smart security device.
Enhancement of Catalytic Activity of Reduced Graphene Oxide Via Transition Metal Doping Strategy

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>To compare the catalytic oxidation activities of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) and rGO samples doped with five different transition metals (TM-rGO), we determine their effects on the oxidation of <I>L</I>-cysteine (Cys) in aqueous solution by performing electrochemistry (EC) measurements and on the photocatalytic oxidation of Cys by using high-resolution photoemission spectroscopy (HRPES) under UV illumination. Our results show that Cr-, Fe-, and Co-doped rGO with 3+ charge states (stable oxide forms: Cr3+, Fe3+, and Co3+) exhibit enhanced catalytic activities that are due to the charge states of the doped metal ions as we compare them with Cr-, Fe-, and Co-doped rGO with 2+ charge states.</P><P><B>Graphical Abstract</B></P><P>The SEM images and the corresponding EC measurements for (a) Cr3+, (b) Fe3+, and (c) Co3+ doped rGO</P>
조피볼락(Sebastes schlegeli) 선충(Nematode: Philometridae)에 대한분자생물학적 동정 및 PCR 검출법 개발

Nematode infection in the epithelial tissue of cultured rockfish Sebastes schlegeli was first reported in 2012. Since then, nematode infections have caused serious economic losses in rockfish aquaculture on the west coast of Korea. Taxonomic and life cycle information for this parasite are currently unknown. In this study, 18S rRNA and cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) genes were used for molecular identification and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to detect the invisible stages of this parasite. Nucleotide sequences of the 18S rRNA of the rockfish nematode showed 98% identity with that of Philometra morii. Therefore, this rockfish nematode was classified to the Philometridae family. However, we could not identify it to genus level using 18S rRNA. Its COI nucleotide sequences shared 85% and 82% identities with those of Bursaphelenchus sinensis and Philometra overstreeti, respectively. In addition, two gene-specific primer sets were designed based on the 18S rRNA gene to detect the intermediate host and nematode larvae. These primers were specific to this rockfish nematode without cross-reacting to other pathogens. The detection limit of the PCR assay using these primers was 1,000 copies of nematoda plasmid DNA. Therefore, the PCR assay described here is suitable for the detection of nematode DNA within rockfish. In addition, this PCR assay could be used to detect nematode larvae and the intermediate host.
