The sintering behavior of titanium-titanium nitride nanocomposite powders has been studied by dilatometry. Titanium. titanium nitride nanocomposite powders were produced by the reactive milling of micron sized titanium powder in nitrogen atmosphere. The Ti-TiN nanocomposite powders milled for various durations along with the initial micron sized Ti powders were then sintered in the temperature range of by a constant rate of heating . The linear shrinkage, shrinkage rate, activation energy for sintering and microstructure has been studied and discussed as a function of milling time.

An efficient synthesis of 1,5-Benzothiazepines via Michael addition of corresponding (E)-1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-(4-(phenylthio)phenyl)prop-2-en-1-one is described under ultrasound irradiation. A series of novel 2-((E)-2,3-dihydro-2-(4-(phenylthio)phenyl)benzo[b][1,4]thiazepin-4-yl)phenol derivatives was confirmed on the basis of 1H NMR, Mass, IR spectral data and Elemental analysis. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activities. Most of the compounds were found to be comparable potent than the reference standard drugs. Utilization of ultrasound irradiation, simple reaction conditions, isolation, and purification makes this manipulation very interesting from an economic and environmental perspective.

In the present study, nanocrystalline mixed metal oxide, $CuMnO_3$ catalyst have been synthesized by mechanochemical method with green chemistry approach. The synthesized catalyst was characterized by analytical techniques including FTIR, XRD, SEM, TEM and BET surface area. The synthesized catalyst shows high surface area is $121.06m^2/g$ with particle size 18 nm. The one pot four component synthesis of substituted 2-phenyl-4(3H) quinazolinone from the reaction of anthranilic acid, benzoyl chloride, hydrazine hydrate and substituted benzaldehyde in presence of $CuMnO_3$ nanocatalyst has been carried out. It affords the corresponding products with high yield (76-95%) in very short reaction time. All the obtained products were characterized with $^1HNMR$, $^{13}CNMR$, FTIR and EIMS.

<P>The possible utilization of automobile shredder residue as a fuel in the cement kiln process was investigated. The detailed characteristics of the automobile shredder residues were investigated in terms of it’s chlorine content as a fuel feed and its circulation in cement kiln. For estimation of the chlorine content in the cement kiln system, the Weber model which is one of the circulation material’s forecast model was used. From the results, we estimated the chlorine by-pass rate should be 1 ~ 2 percent, for maintaining the present level of chlorine content’s on the hot-meal of the cement kiln system.</P>
