선행연구에서 중등이후의 고등교육이 장애인고용에 있어 긍정적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타나고 있다. 그러나 장애대학생이 대학교육 이후 고용으로의 전환을 촉진하기 위한 일련의 과정을 이어주는 진로-직업 모형이 부족하다. 본 연구의 목적은 일리노이 진로-웰빙 모형을 소개하여 장애대학생의 진로와 직업을 개발하고, 이들의 대학교육 이후 고용서비스로 연계 활용하는 방법을 안내하는 데 있다. 본 모형의 주축을 이루는 3가지 ‘개념(Contextual)’, ‘진로발달(Career Development)’, ‘참여(Participation)’ 영역과 이 3가지 영역과 연관된 요소(factors)들을 소개하고, 개인의 장애가 사회적 환경에 의해 발생되는 요인들과 복합적으로 상호작용하는 과정을 설명하였다. 본 모형을 바탕으로 하여 장애대학생들의 국제기능, 장애, 및 건강분류((ICF)를 바탕으로 한 가정, 직장, 사회, 지역사회 등의 참여방안을 제안하였다. 또한 장애대학생 취업과 진로발달에 있어 재활서비스 및 정책 및 연구에 대한 제언이 논의되었다. Research suggests that postsecondary education positively impacts the employment outcomes of individuals with disabilities. However, there is a lack of career model supports to facilitate transition to employment for this population. The purpose of this study is to introduce the Illinois Work and Well-Being Model as a multi-domain conceptual framework that can be used to guide career development and employment service and research regarding college students with disabilities. A comprehensive review of the literature was utilized and explained to develop a theoretical based conceptual model. The model’s contextual, career development, and participation domains and associated factors are introduced and synthesized. Interaction of contextual and career development domains to facilitate Participation domains in the areas of home, work, society and community are emphasized in the model. Future research needs, implications and recommendations regarding vocational rehabilitation for college students with disabilities are discussed.
