        Experimental study on timing and pattern of gas injection in low permeability reservoir

        Experiments were conducted to study the selection of development methods for low permeability reservoir exploitation after water drive, including the effects of different gas injection cycle times and different injection modes on oil displacement efficiency. Results showed that both gas injection cycle time and injection mode have significant effects on oil displacement efficiency. Based on the results of gas injection cycle time of the displacement with mode shifting to gas drive when water cut reaches 50% and 100%, it can be concluded that in the low permeability reservoir, which is exploited by water drive in the early time, the sooner the gas injection, the higher the oil displacement efficiency is. Because high water saturation can cause serious water-blocking effect, leading to a large amount of trapped oil and low displacement efficiency. Further, in view of the results of water drive, gas injection, and water alternating gas (WAG) flooding, it is obvious that WAG flooding is one of the best methods in enhanced oil recovery. Under the effect of gravity differentiation, WAG flooding can spread to the upper reservoir, which cannot be swept by water drive. Thus, the oil recovery factor can be improved effectively. However, it should be noted that gas injectivity should be considered in the field test.

        Simulation analysis and evaluation of decontamination effect of different abrasive jet process parameters on radioactively contaminated metal

        A new method of numerical simulating prediction and decontamination effect evaluation for abrasive jet decontamination to radioactively contaminated metal is proposed. Based on the Computational Fluid Dynamics and Discrete Element Model (CFD-DEM) coupled simulation model, the motion patterns and distribution of abrasives can be predicted, and the decontamination effect can be evaluated by image processing and recognition technology. The impact of three key parameters (impact distance, inlet pressure, abrasive mass flow rate) on the decontamination effect is revealed. Moreover, here are experiments of reliability verification to decontamination effect and numerical simulation methods that has been conducted. The results show that: 60Co and other homogeneous solid solution radioactive pollutants can be removed by abrasive jet, and the average removal rate of Co exceeds 80%. It is reliable for the proposed numerical simulation and evaluation method because of the well goodness of fit between predicted value and actual values: The predicted values and actual values of the abrasive distribution diameter are Ф57 and Ф55; the total coverage rate is 26.42% and 23.50%; the average impact velocity is 81.73 m/s and 78.00 m/s. Further analysis shows that the impact distance has a significant impact on the distribution of abrasive particles on the target surface, the coverage rate of the core area increases at first, and then decreases with the increase of the impact distance of the nozzle, which reach a maximum of 14.44% at 300 mm. It is recommended to set the impact distance around 300 mm, because at this time the core area coverage of the abrasive is the largest and the impact velocity is stable at the highest speed of 81.94 m/s. The impact of the nozzle inlet pressure on the decontamination effect mainly affects the impact kinetic energy of the abrasive and has little impact on the distribution. The greater the inlet pressure, the greater the impact kinetic energy, and the stronger the decontamination ability of the abrasive. But in return, the energy consumption is higher, too. For the decontamination of radioactively contaminated metals, it is recommended to set the inlet pressure of the nozzle at around 0.6 MPa. Because most of the Co elements can be removed under this pressure. Increasing the mass and flow of abrasives appropriately can enhance the decontamination effectiveness. The total mass of abrasives per unit decontamination area is suggested to be 50 g because the core area coverage rate of the abrasive is relatively large under this condition; and the nozzle wear extent is acceptable

        중국 호북미술학원 미술기초조형교육의 과제와 방향에 대한 연구

        최근 한국과 중국의 미술교육분야 교류가 활성화되는 시점에서 예술교육을 전문으로 하는 중국 호북성 무한시의 역사 깊은 호북미술학원과 한국의 한국예술종합학교의 기초조형교육을 비교연구 하였다. 연구의 과제는 1학년 기초조형교육과정을 그 범위로 하고, 교육과정과 함께 학생들의 심미의식과 교사들의 교육관도 함께 조사하여 보다 효과적인 비교방법을 모색하였다. 비교결과 호북미술학원의 한국예술종합학교에 비해 교육과정이 단조로웠다. 특히 호북미술학원이 2006년부터 실시한 시각예술기초부의 기초조형교육은 통식교육의 지향, 입시교육의 교정, 예술적 감수성의 향상, 인문학적 접근 등을 목표로 하고 있으나 입체 및 매체교육을 생략함으로서 한국예술종합학교의 파운데이션 과정에 비해 학생들에게 다양한 양식의 미술들을 이해시키고 체험시키는 문화교육적 공간으로서의 미술교육과정으로는 폭이 좁았다. China, in the area of culture tradition, has been considered as the suzerain state of Orient and has long been related with socialistic culture. The Arts Education Society, whichhas recently imported Western culture, has worked with various and new trends of today's Western culture. Today, The educational exchanges between Korea and China have been drastically developed and the many cases of the study on mutual development are needed. The Hubei Art Institution, located in the Mid-China, has 100 years of tradition and is one of the many institutions which have undergone the changes in progress in the arts education of China today. The problems of the standardized education in the existing Korean Universities, art educational institutions as well as in the Hubei art Institution have been pointed out even though they have common features, as in the recently established the Korea National University of Arts in farming of the professional artists in the pre-art educational programs(Foundation Course) and systematic art education programs. Many differences can be found in their goals as well as in the details. The specifics of the education in the Basic Visual Arts Division of the Hubei Arts Institution are in the emphasis on the refinement of the entrance examination, the advancement of artistic sensibility, the exclusion of the three dimensional and the mixed media education. as well as the educational philosophy based on humanistic perspectives. The educational specifics of fundamental level of the Korea National University of Arts are the expansion of the use of visual language; the experience of visual expression in work process; the expansion of reasoning; and the rearing of artists upon educational methods of the Renaissance; the studio-oriented education; the critique and presentation based class methods. The differences seemed to have common goals in the perspectives of esthetics, but many differences can be found in approaching different methods. In the matter of considering the vagueness of the value of arts, the Hubei Arts Institution's basic visual education has relatively a limited curriculum, compared to the Korea National University of Arts, and, as a result, its educational outputs are relatively simple. Gaps can be found in the rapidly changing world of arts education, not only because of the exclusion of the educational process of three dimensional and media, of which the curriculum that the Basic Visual Arts Division once formulated, but also because of the import of the expressing methods in two dimensional education which are limited in the traditional methods. As a result, a number of scholars set up international exchange programs in arts education- expansion of the exchange programs in mixed-media; emphasis on the personal experiences in arts; emphasis on the creative education; classes for all students for the advancement in education as well as for the recovery from the relative weaknesses of the Hubei Arts Institution. This means that the direction of the arts education today is not limited in one area of arts, but it surpass the visual culture education and connects and set the direction to the social phenomenon in general as well as to the communication, which forms spaces for the culture education. These agendas should be studied in the freshmen year when the basic concepts of arts are educated. So, the approach to the elementary level in arts in general should be experienced so that the thought ability of students can be developed in the earliest time. The Hubei Arts Institution has relatively a simple curriculum in the basics of plastic arts education, compared to the Korea National University of Arts. But it is not the writer's intension of judging one school from another by the completeness of a curriculum of one school.

      • New type of extraction solvent for microalgal lipid extraction:fatty acid methyl esters

        Microalgae are one of the most promising sustainable energy sources for biodiesel production. However, the high costs of the downstream process are a major bottleneck for commercial-scale production of biodiesel from a microalgal biomass. We propose a new process of biodiesel production that utilizes biodiesel as an extractant for microalgal lipid extraction. Biodiesel/methanol based extractant showed high lipid extraction efficiency from wet microalgae. The efficiency obtained from the biodiesel-based extractant was comparable to the chloroform/methanol method. This result suggests that the biodieselbased extractant is an efficient technique for the downstream process of microalgal lipid production.

        Serum Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 7 as a Potential Biomarker in the Diagnosis and Prognosis of Esophagogastric Junction Adenocarcinoma

        Background/Aims: Esophagogastric junction adenocarcinoma (EJA) is a malignant tumor associated with high morbidity and has attracted increasing attention due to a rising incidence and low survival rate. Pathological biopsy is the gold standard for diagnosis, but noninvasive and effective tests are lacking, resulting in diagnoses at advanced stages. This study explored the diagnostic value of insulin-like growth factor binding protein 7 (IGFBP7) in EJA. Methods: A total of 120 EJA patients and 88 normal controls were recruited, and their serum levels of IGFBP7 were measured by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis was used to assess the diagnostic value, and Pearson chi-square analysis was used to evaluate the correlation between IGFBP7 and clinical parameters. Kaplan- Meier survival analysis was carried out to assess the effect of IGFBP7 on overall survival (OS). Results: The levels of IGFBP7 were higher in both early- and late-stage EJA patients than in normal controls (p<0.001). The area under the ROC curve for EJA patients was 0.794 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.733 to 0.854), with a cutoff value of 2.716 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 63.3% (95% CI, 54.0% to 71.8%) and a specificity of 90.9% (95% CI, 82.4% to 95.7%). For the diagnosis of early-stage EJA, the same cutoff value and specificity were obtained, but the sensitivity of IGFBP7 was 54.3% (95% CI, 36.9% to 70.8%). Patients with low IGFBP7 protein expression had lower OS than those with high expression (p=0.034). The multivariate analysis showed that IGFBP7 is an independent prognostic factor for EJA (p=0.011). Conclusions: Serum IGFBP7 acts as a potential diagnostic and prognostic marker for EJA.

        Influence of stator vane number on performance of the axial-flow pump

        The interplay of impeller and stator is investigated for an axial-flow pump. Three stator vane numbers of 5, 7 and 9 are devised tomatch the same impeller. The renormalization group k-ε turbulence model is used to simulate three-dimensional flows in three pumpswith different vane numbers. Axial velocity distributions at impeller outlet and stator outlet are comparatively analyzed. Experimentsassess operation performance of the three pumps. Vibration parameters and static pressure fluctuations are measured as well. It is indicatedthat the influence of vane number on both pump head and pump efficiency is insignificant. Large stator vane number contributes tothe improvement of the uniformity of axial velocity distribution at impeller outlet. At stator outlet, similar tendency is revealed. Severevibration occurs near the outlet bend of the pump, as is particularly remarkable at vane number of 9. For the three cases, blade passingfrequency and its harmonics are predominant in the frequency spectra of pressure fluctuations. As flow rate increases from 0.8Q to 1.0Q,high-frequency pressure fluctuations are suppressed considerably at vane number of 9, while the other two cases also manifest a declinein overall pressure fluctuation amplitude. The 7-vane case is the most preferable one among the three cases in terms of both pump performanceand pressure fluctuation between the impeller and the stator.

        Synthesis and Characterization of Fluorescent Waterborne Polyurethane Based on 4'-p-N,N-Bis(2-hydroxyethyl)benzyl-3,3':6',2"-Terpyridine

        Cationic waterborne polyurethane fluorescent material based on 4"-p-N,N-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)benzyl-3,3":6",2""-terpyridine (TPPDA-CWPU) was synthesized. The structure was characterized by FTIR and UV-vis spectroscopy. The content of TPPDA in the fluorescent polyurethane was 6.3×10<SUP>-4</SUP> mg/mg and the grafting ratio was 33.87%. The number-averaged and weight-average molecular weights of TPPDA-CWPU were about 16060 and 27131 g·mol<SUP>-1</SUP>, respectively. The maximum absorption wavelength of TPPDA-CWPU was blue shifted ca. 6 nm compared to TPPDA. TPPDACWPU showed different fluorescence properties under different solid content. Compared with 20% solid content, the fluorescence intensity of 1% solid content increased by ten times. The quantum yield of TPPDA-CWPU was 0.3, which was four times higher than that of TPPDA. Moreover, TPPDA-CWPU was sensitive to acidic condition and there was the phenomenon of fluorescence quenching in the case of strong acidic conditions. It is believed that more applications will be possible in the pH-responsive polymer.

        Effects of Isosorbide on the Microphase Separation and Properties of Waterborne Polyurethane Coatings

        Series of waterborne polyurethanes (WPUs) containing poly(tetra methylene glycol) (PTMG), 4,4-dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate (HMDI), 2,2-dimethylolpropionic acid (DMPA), 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediol (TMPD), isosorbide (ISO) and ethylenediamine (EDA) were synthesized. The effects of ISO on the structure and properties of WPUs were studied by gel permeation chromatography (GPC), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMTA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetry (TG), mechanical test, chemical resistance and hardness test. The deconvolution analysis of FTIR of WPUs revealed that the hydrogen bond interaction in the WPUs increased with the increase of ISO content. Furthermore, the degree of microphase separation was increased with the increase of hydrogen bond interaction, which was confirmed by DSC, XRD and DMTA test. The results demonstrated that the addition of ISO can increase the hydrogen bond interaction between the hard and hard segments in WPUs, which improved the mechanical properties of the WPU films. The highest tensile strength was obtained of 59.67 MPa when the content of isosorbide was 10.35 wt%. Moreover, the ISO was helpful to improve the chemical resistance and hardness of the coatings by the comprehensive performance analysis.

        Effects of operational parameters on performance of the air-powered needle-free injector

        The needle-free injection is a new technique for treating subcutaneous drug delivery through penetrating the skin with a high-speed liquid drug jet. The present study aims to reveal fluid dynamics characteristics of the needle-free injection. The operational parameters such as the driving pressure, the nozzle diameter and the liquid volume were investigated for an air-powered needle-free injection system using experimental techniques. The results show that the peak stagnation pressure determines the penetration performance of the jet and is significantly affected by the driving pressure, nozzle diameter and liquid volume. Furthermore, the entire injection process of fluid in the gel can be defined as two phases of penetration and diffusion. Thus, the dispersion characteristics of fluid in different phases could be controlled by an effective combination of the nozzle diameter and liquid volume. Overall, the obtained conclusions provide a sound support for understanding the operation of the needle-free injector.
