Background/Aims: Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is associated with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). We aimed to evaluate the prevalence, clinical manifestation, and outcomes of PSC in Taiwanese patients with IBD. Methods: This retrospective study enrolled patients with IBD admitted from January 1, 1996, to December 31, 2018, to National Taiwan University Hospital. A case-matched analysis was performed comparing patients with IBD with and without PSC according to age, sex, and time of admission, with ratios of 1:4 and 1:2 in the adult and pediatric groups, respectively. Results: In total, 763 patients with IBD were enrolled, 12 of whom were also diagnosed with PSC (1.57%). All these patients had ulcerative colitis (UC). A greater incidence of IBD with PSC was observed in younger patients than in older patients. Male sex was a risk factor for PSC in pediatric patients with IBD (P=0.015); 75% of these patients were diagnosed with PSC along with or after the diagnosis of UC. There was no significant difference in colitis extent and severity between the groups; however, a higher proportion of rectal sparing was observed in patients with PSC (P=0.001). There was no significant difference in cancer development between the groups (P=0.679). Conclusions: A 1.57% prevalence of PSC was observed in Taiwanese patients with IBD. The majority of patients with IBD and PSC were men and were diagnosed at a younger age. Hence, routine evaluation of biliary enzymes and liver imaging is recommended in young male patients with IBD. An Extended Multi-Server-Based User Authentication and Key Agreement Scheme with User Anonymity

With the explosive growth of computer networks, many remote service providing servers and multi-server network architecture are provided and it is extremely inconvenient for users to remember numerous different identities and passwords. Therefore, it is important to provide a mechanism for a remote user to use single identity and password to access multi-server network architecture without repetitive registration and various multi-server authentication schemes have been proposed in recent years. Recently, Tsaur et al. proposed an efficient and secure smart card based user authentication and key agreement scheme for multi-server environments. They claimed that their scheme satisfies all of the requirements needed for achieving secure password authentication in multi-server environments and gives the formal proof on the execution of the proposed authenticated key agreement scheme. However, we find that Tsaur et al.`s scheme is still vulnerable to impersonation attack and many logged-in users` attack. We propose an extended scheme that not only removes the aforementioned weaknesses on their scheme but also achieves user anonymity for hiding login user`s real identity. Compared with other previous related schemes, our proposed scheme keeps the efficiency and security and is more suitable for the practical applications.

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are performed to study the fracture behavior of armchair and zigzag graphene sheets with V-shaped notches subjected to tensile loading. The effects of temperature and notches depth on the fracture characteristics of the graphene sheets are examined. The results show that the cracks propagate from the notch tip along the direction perpendicular to the loading axis for armchair sheets. This is different from the zigzag graphene propagating along the direction of 45˚ from the loading axis. In addition, the fracture energy of zigzag graphene sheets is larger than armchair one at the same temperature condition.
