ZnO nanostructured lms fabricated by electrochemical deposition exhibit a variety of morphologies. Understanding their respectivenucleation and growth mechanisms requiresin situwhich adequately captures both processes and illustrates dierences in the growth rates for lms deposited at dierent potentials. In sodoing, the new method has signicant advantages over a previous method of continually scanning across the near-edge region of theabsorption spectrum while the lm was being deposited.
