This paper presents a novel approach to diagnose interturn insulation faults in three-phase transformers that operate at different loading conditions. This approach is based on the loci of instantaneous symmetrical components and requires the measurement of three input primary winding currents and voltages to diagnose faults in the transformer. The effect of unbalance supply conditions, load variations, constructional imbalance, and measurement errors when this methodology is used is also investigated. Wing size or length determines the loading on the transformer. Wing travel and area determine the degree of severity of fault. Experimental results are presented for a 400/200 V, 7.5 kVA transformer to validate this method.

Purpose: This review reports the incidence of mesh-related erosion after ventral mesh rectopexy to determine whether any difference exists in the erosion rate between synthetic and biological mesh. Methods: A systematic search of the MEDLINE and the Ovid databases was conducted to identify suitable articles published between 2004 and 2015. The search strategy capture terms were laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy, laparoscopic anterior rectopexy, robotic ventral rectopexy, and robotic anterior rectopexy. Results: Eight studies (3,956 patients) were included in this review. Of those patients, 3,517 patients underwent laparoscopic ventral rectopexy (LVR) using synthetic mesh and 439 using biological mesh. Sixty-six erosions were observed with synthetic mesh (26 rectal, 32 vaginal, 8 recto-vaginal fistulae) and one (perineal erosion) with biological mesh. The synthetic and the biological mesh-related erosion rates were 1.87% and 0.22%, respectively. The time between rectopexy and diagnosis of mesh erosion ranged from 1.7 to 124 months. No mesh-related mortalities were reported. Conclusion: The incidence of mesh-related erosion after LVR is low and is more common after the placement of synthetic mesh. The use of biological mesh for LVR seems to be a safer option; however, large, multicenter, randomized, control trials with long follow-ups are required if a definitive answer is to be obtained.
Reducing Capital Flight in Africa: Does Regional Financial Integration Matter?
Celestin Balla Mekongo,Henri Atangana Ondoa,Guy Albert Kenkouo 세종대학교 경제통합연구소 2023 Journal of Economic Integration Vol.38 No.2
Capital flight continues to be an issue of paramount importance for developing economies, as it deprives them of the funds required for economic takeoff. Hence, this paper aims to analyze the effect of regional financial integration (RFI) on capital flight in Africa. Based on a sample of 23 countries, we specify and estimate an asset demand model of capital flight using a portfolio choice analysis by the system-generalized method of moments for the period 1996-2015. We find two important results. First, the RFI reduces capital flight. This result becomes even more interesting when the quality of governance is considered. Second, structural breaks in the RFI-capital flight relationship explain why the RFI has had a mixed effect on the capital flight over the study period. We recommend that the attractiveness of regional financial services be enhanced concurrently with the standardization of banking and financial regulation in Africa.
Occult gastric cancer presenting as hypoxia from pulmonary tumor thrombotic microangiopathy

Pulmonary tumor thrombotic microangiopathy (PTTM) causing fatal pulmonary hypertension is a rare presentation of malignancy. In general, patients with PTTM rapidly succumb to death due to severe hypoxia. To date, very few cases of PTTM have been reported in the literature; and most of these cases were from gastric cancer and were diagnosed on post mortem autopsy, as it is extremely challenging to make an ante mortem diagnosis. We here report on a case of undiagnosed diffuse gastric cancer, presenting as worsening hypoxia. The clinical, radiographic, and echocardiographic features, and laboratory and pathological results were consistent with PTTM from gastric cancer. The patient was started on anticoagulation therapy, corticosteroids, and high-flow oxygen. However, her hypoxia worsened to the extent that she required ventilator support, and she died soon after intubation due to cardiac arrest. Since diffuse gastric cancer is associated with hereditary diffuse gastric cancer syndrome, cadherin 1 gene mutation analysis was performed to estimate the risk to her daughters. The test came back negative.
Tissue Culture of Stone Fruit Plants Basis for Their Genetic Engineering
Csanyi, Marta,Wittner, Anita,Nagy, Agenes,Balla, Ildiko,Vertessy, Judit,Palkovics, Laszlo,Balazs, Eevin The Korean Society of Plant Biotechnology 1999 Plant molecular biology and biotechnology research Vol.1 No.2
Genetic engineering of stone fruit species like apricot, plum, peach and cherry are hampered by the inefficient and low-level regeneration processes in tissue culture. The first transgenic stone fruit species have emerged from transformed hypocotyls. These great achievements were applauded by the scientific community contrary the fact that hypocotyl derived transgenic plants have no real brooding value. Tissue culture of different organs of valuable cultivars are recorded with an extremely low-level of regeneration in the literature. To improve the tissue culture basis of stone fruit plants an extensive tissue culture programme were launched and dozens of different media were compared including a series of hormone concentration in the tissue culture systems. Our continuous efforts were crowned by a very efficient method for achieving up to 30-40% regenerable petioles. Usually on a single petiole several well-separated meristems were induced. After 3-4 weeks of cultivation shoots were developed. The basic media $K_2$ were supplemented with 10g/L saccharose, 10g/L glucose and 10g/L maltose. The following plant hormones were used BAP 1mg/L, TDZ 1mg/L, 2-iP 1mg/L and IAA 0,1 mg/L concentrations. The Petri dishes were kept for 3 weeks in dark at a temperature 22$^{\circ}C$ for 8 hours and 22-24$^{\circ}C$ for 16 hours. The Petri dishes were sealed with Parafilm. The regeneration of the petioles were genotype independent and we were able to regenerate different plum cultivars with almost the same efficiency.
