Anthony Bendik,김지웅,함주현,김혜은 보완대체의학연구소 2013 Research Journal of Complementary and Alternative Vol.- No.4

The misalignment of the vertebra spine affects muscles, tendons and standing posture. Misalignment of the spine provokes the imbalance of shoulders, pelvis and neck posture. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the validity of the digital posture analysis software. 30 college students participated in this study. Posture was evaluated by radiography film and a digital posture analysis program. All the data was collected and statistically analyzed. Measurement of forward head posture appeared 13.39±2.57 mm in postural evaluation software and 16.34±1.94 mm in radiography film. The interclass correlation coefficient between postural analysis software and radiography film is 0.755 (p>0.05). Measurement of shoulder displacement appeared 0.75±0.31° in postural evaluation software and 1.29±0.29° in radiography film. The interclass correlation coefficient between postural analysis software and radiography film is 0.646 (p>0.05). Finally, the measurement of pelvis displacement appeared 0.31±0.34° in postural evaluation software and 0.85±0.38° in radiography film (p>0.05). The interclass correlation coefficient between postural analysis software and radiography film is 0.808. In conclusion, this study suggests the digital posture analysis software is valid for use in the clinic for analyzing a patient’s posture conveniently.

      • 특발성 척추 측만증 환자와 일반인의 보행분석 비교

Anthony Bendik,이정아,정한석,양진희 보완대체의학연구소 2013 Research Journal of Complementary and Alternative Vol.- No.4

The main purpose of this study is to analyze the gait of normal person and scoliosis patient through Optojump system. There were 44 participants randomly selected and investigated. The Cobb's angle was used to measure the scoliosis and statistically analyzed. The results were as follows; There is no significant difference on stance phase between the experiment group and the control group (p>0.05). And there is no significant difference on swing phase between the experiment group and the control group (p>0.05). The stance phase and the swing phase studies showed a high correlation (r=0.97, r=0.90). In conclusion, this study showed there were no difference between an experiment and a control groups due to mild scoliosis curves (mean 16°±5) and 2 minutes time limit on a treadmill without any incline levels. The further study was suggested with various scoliosis condition and time limits.

      • Analysis of Posture of Japanese Children by Biotonix System

Anthony Bendik,Kenjiro Imoto,SiHo Ahn,Yuichi Imoto 보완대체의학연구소 2012 Research Journal of Complementary and Alternative Vol.- No.3

Recently cases concerning children’s posture is on the rise. Teachers of many other schools were also reporting a higher incidence of cases relating to posture. In 2000, Japanese economy newspaper showed 75% of elementary students have some form of posture problems. I see some children in the train these days and their posture is absolutely worse than before when we were kids. Some pediatrics and chiropractors started have started alerting the public about this problem. Actually there is not much data suggesting “children's posture is bad”, we just look at them and realize it. Many people are not too concern about finding a solution to this problem. Professor Kuwaoka from Souzougakuen University, has commented “bad posture makes the backbone warped”, creating various kinds of health problems. An analysis of their poor posture was performed by using a system invented by Biotonix in Canada. As a result, number of bad posture children was actually higher than once thought. Data that was gathered, suggests most children would continue having problems with their posture after the age of 9. 10 kids are receiving chiropractic adjustments now, although our research is far from completed, visual inspection showed their postures were improving. We conducted a follow up survey on 7 children out of 60 kids of different ages, but research needs to be conducted proof the details. A study comparing two groups, one group receiving chiropractic adjustments and the other not receiving chiropractic adjustments is scheduled for the future.

      • The Effect of KCS-therapy for the Meniscus on Improving the Range of Motion of the Knee

Urata Sizuko,Kikuchi Sachie,Anthony Bendik,Onodera Yasushi 보완대체의학연구소 2011 Research Journal of Complementary and Alternative Vol.- No.2

In this study we conducted research on the effectiveness of our unique technique, KCS's adjustment of the meniscus for measuring the improvement of the knee joint's range of motion by restored mobility in the meniscus in 200 peoples, 400 cases. According to our results, a recovery of the range of motion was confirmed in patients of 76% using automatic movement (AE), and of 78% using passive movement. Also, in cases who suffered from pain, an organic illness and cases with a nearly normal range of movement were confirmed to have a clear recovery and an increase in the range of movement. Therefore, this technique can be confirmed effective in regards to the knee joint's range of motion and the improvement of the QOL.
