        비타민 C 복용과 걷기 운동이 중년여성의 우울과 임파워먼트에 미치는 효과

        Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of Vitamin C supplementation and walking exercise on depression and empowerment among middle-aged women. Methods : The study design was single group pre-post experimental design. Participants were 30 middle-aged women aged 40-57 years. Participants took vitamin C supplement and performed walking exercise for 4-8 weeks. Data were collected by the two kinds of self-reported questionnaire (Beck Depression Inventory, Intrapersonal Empowerment Scale). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, paired t-test and ANOVA. Result : After the vitamin C supplementation and walking exercise, participants showed significant decreases in depression(t=6.09, p<.001) and significant increases in empowerment (t=2.35, p=.027) Conclusion : Result shows that vitamin C supplementation and walking exercise are effective in decreasing depression and increasing empowerment of middle-aged women.

        Mixed Osteosarcoma with Metastatic Alveolar Carcinomatous Appearance in Canine Mammary Gland Tumor

        본 증례는 개의 유선에서 발생한 골형성성의 악성 혼합 유선 종양으로 샘포의 암종성 변화를 동반하고 있다. 종양은 12년령 암캐의 좌측 5번째 유선에서 절제되었으며 직경 2~2.5㎝의 단단한 mass로 절단 시 경도가 높은 골성의 구조를 가지고 있었다. 현미경학적 관찰 시, 골유사 물질이 미네랄 침착되고 있었으며 다수의 골형성 세포와 일부 파골세포가 골생성 종양 기질 전반에 걸쳐서 관찰되었다. 이러한 골유사 병변은 높은 밀집도를 보이는 근상피 세포와 연접하고 있었으며 이러한 세포들은 수 개의 유사분열상을 나타내고 있었다. 이와 더불어, 유선세관과 샘포의 암종성 변화를 보이는 세포들이 인접 기질로 침습하고 있는 모습이 관찰되었고 이것 역시 증가된 근상피 세포들로 둘러싸여 있었다. 본 증례에서 볼 수 있는 이러한 세포들의 출현은 동시 발생된 악성 종양의 형태를 제시할 수 있으며 종양의 기원은 상피 유래의 암종성 조직과 중간엽 유래의 육종성 연골 및 골 조직으로 구별할 수 있겠다. We describe here a case of malignant mixed osteogenic tumor of the mammary gland with alveolar carcinomatous appreance. A firm, 2 to 2.5cm (in diameter) mass under the 5th nipple, showing the structure of extraosseous osteogenic sarcoma, was removed from the left 5th mammary gland of 12-year-old female dog. When investigated under the microscope, the osteoid material undergoing mineralization was surrounded by numerous scattered osteoblasts and a few osteoclastic cells throughout the osteoid tumorous stroma. The osteoid lesions were continuous with hypercellular myoepithelial cells of a very immature character with several mitotic figures. In addition, there were also carcinomatous tubules and alveoli, with invading cells into peripheral stroma, surrounded by myoepithelial cells in the mammary gland. In these lesions, emanating cords of tumor cells appear to be continuous with the myoepithelial cell layer of a duct. The presence of all these cell types suggests the existence of a common malignant origin, the stem cell being differentiated into epithelial carcinomatous and mesenchymal sarcomatous chondral and osteogenic tissues.

        흰쥐 부분 근육 절제 모델에서 지방유래줄기세포의 치료 효과

        Adipose tissue derived stem cells(ASCs) are multipotent cells capable of forming bone, cartilage, and other connective tissues. In this study we evaluated the effect of stem cells derived from adipose tissue on the muscle regeneration in partial removed skeletal muscle in rats. Male sprague-dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups: control, PBS-injected and ASCs-injected group. Stem cells were isolated from rat abdominal adipose tissue by collagenase digestion and ASCs labeled with superparamagnetic iron oxide(Feridex) were used. Muscle injury was subjected to rat bypartial removal of quadriceps femoris muscle. The labeled cells were directly injected into the muscle injured area after muscle injury an hour. After 2 weeks, histological analysis was performed using H&E staining and prussian blue staining. The muscle regeneration markers were examined by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR. ASCs labeled with Feridex were detected by prussian blue staining in injured muscle area. Microscopical muscle regeneration and neovascularization were more increased in ASCs-injected group compared to PBS-injected group. The expression level of Pax7, MyoD and myogenin were more significantly increased in ASCs-injected group compared with the PBS-injected group. This preliminary observation shows that ASCs may be directly involved in the regeneration process of injured skeletal muscle; therefore the possibility of using ASCs as a stem cell therapy for muscle regeneration need to be further investigated for the purpose of clinical trials.

        Perianal Adenocarcinoma in Dog

        12.6살 된 수컷 Shitzu의 항문주위에 형성된 결절 조직의 생검을 실시하였다. 육안적 소견상 결절은 갈색과 검은색을 나타냈으며 절단면은 흰색의 균질한 물질로 가득 차 있었으며 일부에서는 괴사소견을 관찰 할 수 있었다. 광학적 현미경 상에서 종양세포들은 농축된 핵을 가지고 있으며 일부에서는 원시 종양세포들이 인접 조직을 침습하고 있는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 또한 면역조직 화학적 염색상에서 농축된 종양세포, 주변조직에 침습한 종양세포와 기저세포는 EGFR, HER-2/neu, MMP-9, PKC α 등에 양성반응이 나타난 것을 관찰되었다. 일반적으로 개에서의 양성 항문주위선종은 다른 종양보다 4.5배 이상 발생된다는 보고(특히 수캐)가 있으나 조직병리학적 소견과 면역화학적 염색소견상 전형적인 항문주위선 샘암종은 보기 드물게 나타나므로 향후의 종양진단과 종양연구에 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다. A 12.6-year-old, male Shitzu was diagnosed with perianal adenocarcinoma. The presented mass was brown to black, 4×3×3 cm in size, and yellowish on cut section. Microscopic findings revealed that the mass composed of variable sized clusters of hepatoid cells with inconspicuous distinct. The tumor cells were polyhedral and pyknotic and exhibited high mitotic activity. Tumor cells intermingled with basaloid cells and primitive cells invaded the adjacent normal tissues. Basaloid cells exhibited positive immunoreactivity for Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER-2/neu), matrix metallopnateinase 9 (MMP-9), and perianal adenocarcinoma, protein kinase C alpha (PKC α). Generally, tumors of the perianal gland are common and benign 4.5 times more often than carcinoma in the dog, particularly in males. In the present report, we examined histopathological and immunohistochemical characteristics of a rare perianal adenocarcinoma in association with proteins involved tumor metastasis and adenocarcinoma development.

        HER-2/neu Protein Expression in Canine Mammary Adenocarcinoma

        개에서의 유선 종양진단은 총 49 case 중에서 Human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER-2/neu, c-erbB-2), Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), Activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule (ALCAM) 등 면역조직화학적염색법을 실시하였다. 우선 49 case를 두 그룹으로 즉: 양성종양그룹 (22 case)과 악성종양그룹 (27case)으로 구분하였다. 면역조직화학적염색법의 분석결과 HER-2/neu의 발현은 양성종양에서는 31.8% (7/22), 악성종양에서는 29.6% (8/27)의 발현율을 보였고, EGFR의 발현은 양성종양에서는 27.3% (6/22), 악성종양에서는 22.2% (6/27)의 발현율을 보였으며, ALCAM의 발현은 양성종양에서는 40.9% (9/22), 악성종양에서는 7.4%(2/27)의 발현율을 보였다. 결론적으로 개에서의 유선종양진단의 발현율은 사람에서 보고된 것(25%~30%)과 비슷하게 나타났으며 임상진단분야에서 HER-2/neu 항체로 개에서의 유선종양진단에서 유용한 평가수단으로 적용될 수 있으리라 사료된다. In this study to evaluate the involvement of EGFR, HER-2/neu and ALCAM (CD166) oncogene products in canine mammary neoplastic lesions, sections of archived paraffin-embedded samples of 49 mammary tumors were analyzed immunohistochemically using antibodies against human EGFR and HER-2/neu and ALCAM. These 49 tumors were divided into 2 groups: 22 benign (19 adenoma, 3 benign mixed tumors) and 27 malignant tumors (2 simple adenocarcinomas, 5 complex adenocarcinomas, 3 solid carcinoma, 5 sclerosing carcinoma, 8 malignant mixed tumors and 4 malignant myoepithelioma). As a result of immunostaining, 31.8% (7/22) of the benign tumors and 29.6% (8/27) of the malignant tumors expressed the HER-2/neu oncogene product, EGFR expression was detected in 27.3% (6/22) of benign tumors and in 22.2% (6/27) of the malignant tumors. ALCAM expression was detected in 40.9% (9/22) of benign tumors and in 7.4% (2/27) of the malignant tumors. These results suggest that some of the biological and morphological characteristics of the tumor are associated with canine mammary gland tumors, as also reported for human breast cancer, the possibility of using anti-HER-2/neu antibodies in the treatment of canine mammary tumors.
