        Even though in terms of their contents, organizations, and practices pastoral ministries have revealed multifaceted phenomena, they are still showing dualistic tendencies. The church, considering the proclamation of the Gospel as the fundamental and proper function, strengthens the role of preaching. In other words, the church deemphasizes other functions such as diaconia. Accordingly, the church is not fit to satisfy the needs of the alienated in the industrialized world, and thus is loosing opportunities for the proclamation of the Gospel. The proclamation of the Gospel is proper to the pastor. Yet pastoral counseling, missions, diaconia, religious education and so forth are his roles though assisted by lay people. Sharing ministries is of critical importance to the very existence of the church. Diaconia have to do with the policies of a country and thus the church should take advantage of them. Furthermore, the church schuld perform services which the government cannot provide. The church should go in hand with the state in the service of Christians as well as unbelievers. Pastoral counseling needs the help of the specialists who have special knowledges in the arena. Yet pastors should perform leading roles in providing spiritual guidances. Even the proclamation of the Gospel needs assistance and participation of lay people to meet their various needs. This study is designed to emphaze the church's various pastoral roles and thus intensify her services in the troubled world. Otherwise people will leave her. For the previous purpose, I took advantage of Pannenberg's understanding of humanity. That is because he has stressed more holistic approach toward pastoral ministries.

      • 목회자의 인격과 하비투스적 신학교육

        To be a pastor, one should pass through the process of the formal theological education. In a sense, theological education is so important and has a direct influence on the pastor's pastoral work. Also, the meaning and value of theological education can be the basis of theology which rightly presents modern ecclesiology. However, we can easily find the various problematic elements within theological education today in the Korean context. Firstly, it has lack of training for theological students' character cultivation. Secondly, it does not fully consider the relationship between theology and social sciences. As a result, theological students have no opportunity to get the balanced education in the process of theological training. In the modern church context, the pastors have to do various works such as preaching, home visitation, mission, and administration. However, the most important thing for them is to live as real witnesses in the secular world. In this regard, this article deals with habitual theological education which is closely related to pastors' lives until 18th century. It seeks to restore the pastor's character as well as theology as a learning.

      • 신학실천을 위한 목회자의 신학과 영성의 상관관계 고찰 : 본회퍼의 실천신학적 신학과 영성을 중심으로

        Generally, theology and spirituality have been understood as something dualistic. However, they should develop in integration, corresponding each other. The possibility of the integration and correspondence is found in Dietrich Bonhoeffer. For Bonhoeffer, the core of his theology is always ‘Jesus-centered' and the origin of his profound spirituality is also Christ Jesus. There are two purposes in this article. One is to understand the correlation between theology and spirituality of Bonhoeffer. Then, the other is to discover the answer to what the relation of theology and spirituality of the ministers in this era should be like. It would help the ministers in our time to become the ones who have the direction toward the world, pursuing a public community, namely the community of God that is not belonging to the world though it exists in it. This article is composed of four parts. The first is the reflection on the ministers as the central image of the churches, and the second on the evangelical theology and spirituality. Next is the investigation into the theology and spirituality of Bonhoeffer as an ideal of the theology and spirituality of Protestantism, and the last is about his spirituality of the practical theology. Then, in the conclusion I suggest my view of the overall meaning of Bonhoeffer's theology and spirituality. The feature of Bonhoeffer's theology and spirituality is neither something special nor distinctive. Rather, it is revealing the whole images of his personal life that are very daily and general. In other words, there is the answer in Bonhoeffer's sincere attitude to the life and the quality of his life with which in front of God he continued living at his every single moment in the very common and trivial everyday life.

        전인적 목회실천의 가능성 고찰: 루돌프 보렌의 신학적 미학을 중심으로

        이 논문은 목회자들의 목회실천이 단순히 성도들을 대상하는 수여자로서의 실체로서보다는 오히려 목회자 자신을 포함하는 하나의 공동체적 목회환경으로 변혁할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하여 보고자 하는 의도에서 출발한다 현실적으로 한국교회 목회자들은 자신들의 목회활동을 통한 과중한 업무와 획일적이고 수직적인 목회환경 속에서 창의적이거나 감성적인 기대를 하기에는 매우 어려운 현실이라 할 것이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 본질적인 목사의 목회활동은 그 어떤 성과나 가시적 발전을 최우선적으로 기대하거나 목적할 수 있는 것이 아니라는 사실은 자명한 것이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 한국적 목회현장의 실상은 많은 내용과 상황들에서 가시적이고 양적 성장에 치중하는 현사으로부터 자유롭지 못한 목회환경에 노출되어 있다 할 것이다. 이러한 한국교회의 현상적 발전과 성과 중심의 교회발전 앞에 책임적 존재로 영적 지도자로 일컬어지는 목회자가 있다. 이럴 경우 목회자는 자신의 영적 지도력으로 감당할 수 없는 성과적 직무와 교회의 현상적 발전에 대하여 모든 책임을 짊어지고 자기 정체성과 전혀 맞지 않을 수도 있는 목회 현실로 잠식되어질 수도 있을 것이다. 이러한 한국교회의 성과적 목회현실에 대한 염려와 함께 하나의 대안으로서 전인적이고 신학 감성적인 루돌프 보렌의 "신학적 미학"을 소개하고자 한다. 이로써 한국교회의 목회현장과 목회자들로부터 한국 사회 전반으로까지 하나님의 나라의 아름다운 형상들이 일상 생활속으로 전달될 수 있기를 희망하여 보는 것이다.

      • 창의적 목회실천을 위한 하나님의 ‘창조 사역’ 고찰 : 창세기의 창조사역의 이해를 중심으로

        In modern society, the practice of ministry has confused. The meanings of practice ministry had tension and conflict among communities that were composed of many values and purposes for kingdom of God. In terms of pluralism cultures churches and societies has confronted with directions. Those that has been challenged by multi-values missed what is right way to follow. The practice of ministry should follow the ways what communities wished. First of all the ministry of practice should be sensitive to the what God speaks to us. God want to do His job through His partners who are persons. In order to achieve God's wish, the practice of ministry should be alert to human environments and works. The second practice of ministry should reform theologies that recognize and understand constructively. Theologies should be very practical to achieve God's will and to save human's soul. The servant of God always should consider what God want one to do for the becoming world created by One. The redemption of God lies in life human beings who are created to image of God.

      • 목양실천을 위한 하나님의 임재

        The pastoral activities of a paster can be encapsulated into three categories: preaching, administering sacraments, and pastoral care. More specifically they can be summarized as preaching, administering sacraments, Christian education, diakonia, and communio sanctorum. As shown above, in the traditional ministry emphasis has been laid upon preaching and sacraments and thus pastoral care has been relatively ignored. If a pastor puts stress upon preaching and sacraments and overlooks pastoral care for church members, it will cause serious problems not just for the pastor but also for church members. It will make the Gospel which the pastor proclaim irrelevant not only to church but also to society in general. The Incarnation of Christ in the Bible has a close bearing with our daily life. In other words. it has to do with human persons' cure and recovery. Accordingly, the pastor who is in charge of church ministry should execute an incarnational proclamation of th Gospel, and regard the Incarnation of Christ as the criterion of his or her pastoral care. The pastoral activities are an action-oriented professional job implemented through theological studies, professing faith, and the experience of God's presence. Thus pastorate cannot be practiced solely through academic activities: Rather emphasis should be placed upon spiritual formation A pastor's church ministry cannot be fully exercised through religious symbols such as preaching and sacraments. As a human being the pastor can do ministry efficiently through showing up his or her personality, witnessing his or her calling, and revealing his or her pious practical life. Moreover this is possible only through the presence of God which the pastor experiences daily. In turn the experience of the presence of God will be possible for those who are eager for self-discipline. The church which is not in struggle for self-renewal and thus not answerable to church members as well as society in general will be combed out. Its cardinal objective should be the rediscovery of humanity for those who are defaced through disease, divorce, and so forth.

      • 남북한 통일을 위한 교회의 사회정치적인 역할 고찰 : 정의 실현을 위한 독일교회 통일정책을 중심으로

        World Council of Churches has been seeking the union of the churches in the world, clarifying that the Church is essentially One at any political, military, or cultural situation based on "una sancta catholica," Reflecting the holy Catholicity. Korean Church also has to respond to the mission of the union of the churches in South and North Korea. Further the Korean Church has to remind the people of the national unification that has been retarded because of the hostility and hatred caused from the ideological conflicts. Korea has remained the only divided nation in the world since Germany was reunified on Oct. 3, 1990. The reunification in Germany suggests many insights to Korean Church. The process of reunification in Germany should not be regarded as a result of excellent national policies or outstanding political leadership. The Church of Germany took a very central role for the reunification between East and West Germany. The Church of Germany had been taking the leading role in the reunification of East and West, actively cultivating and participating in various socio-political activities for the essential tasks and roles of the Church. The activities were far beyond any simple social movement or civic movement. Rather, they were the reflective movements over the theologies and confessions of the Church for the essential mission and roles of the Church. The movements of "peace prayer(friedensgebet)" and "peace meditation(Friedensandacht)" in the churches of East Germany strongly influenced on the reunification of Germany although East Germany had been under extreme threat, violence, and oppression by communism This would be a model for the unification of Korea. The theological confessions for Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation of the World Council of Churches should be continuing in the prayers and the essential activities of Korean Church.
