Cure characteristics, tensile properties, and dynamic properties were investigated on the carbon black-filled natural rubber compounds, in which three typical vucanization types: conventional vulcanization(Conv), semi-efficient(Semi-EV), and efficient(EV) vulcanizations were used. The effects of vulcanization temperature on both the mechanical property and aging resistance of rubber compounds were also investigated. The Conv cure system showed a slightly slower rate of vulcanization than those of Semi-EV and EV ones. On the other hand, it showed a higher value in the maximum torque of cure curve. Higher tensile moduli were observed in Conv system than those in Semi-EV and EV ones, while lower elongation at break were obtained in Conv one. The tensile strength at break were found to be about the same for three cure systems. Hardness, modulus, and tensile strength decreased with increasing the vulcanization temperature, and the degree of changes in the properties was found to be smaller for EV and Semi-EV systems than that in Conv one. The EV system was found to be superior m thermal-aging resistance to Conv one.
Poly(L-glutamic acid) 가교막의 대이온 선택적인 Helix-Coil 전이거동

Poly(L-glutamic acid)(PLGA) Membranes, which are stable in aqueous organic solvents, were prepared by crosslinking PLGA with polyether diisocyanate. In water/alcohol mixed solvents, the helix-coil transitions of PLG alkali metal salts in the crosslinked membranes were investigated as a function of counterion species and solvent compositions. The solvent specificity for the helix formation is MeOH >EtOH>2PrOH, and the counterion specificity is Li> Na > K > Cs. These specificities are ascribed to a contact ion-pair formation between the PLG carboxyl anion and the bound counterion on coil chains as well as on helix, which depends on the energy balance between the electrostatic interaction and the desolvation.
Poly(acrylonitrile - co - butadiene) Rubber / Polypyrrole 전도성 복합체의 제조와 전기적 성질에 관한 연구

The conducting composites were prepared by emulsion polymerization with poly (acrylonitrile-co-butadiene) (NBR) as a matrix and polypyrrole (PPY) as a conducting polymer. Among several surfactants, the electrical conductivity of the composite which was polymerized by dodecyl sodium sulfate (DSS) was the best. The film of composite was prepared by compression molding. The electrical conductivity was measured by 4 probes method as a function of PPY and temperature. When the content of PPY was 25 wt%, the electrical conductivity of composite was increased up to 1.17 S/㎝. The percolation threshold showed at the vicinity of 15 wt% PPY content.
