This research found out several key facts of producing whole crop barley forage and using on animal farm. Firstly, nationwide average operational cost and producing cost of the whole crop barley is estimated as 60.16 won/kg and 86.93 won/kg, respectively. It is also analyzed that the production cost of "Jeonla" Province is the lowest in the country. Secondly, the whole crop barley is competitive within the price range of 110.4~116.2 won/kg. Thus, to help the whole crop barley grower, various policy options should be considered. Finally, this study suggests that in the central region farmers better grow rather Rye and Oat than whole barley. Also it is necessary to Provide economic incentives to in crease forage production and facilitate its logistics.

In this paper, we analyze the changes in productivity before and after swine farms adopting ICT facilities. Based on the assumption that the number of ICT adoption farms will increase, we analyze the effect of productivity by ICT facilities introduction. The results of the analysis are there was an average income increase of 7,954 won per sow. An analysis of the impact of pig production by the EDM model showed that the equilibrium quantity increased by 2.0%, the equilibrium price by 3.1%, and the pork import by 3.1% in the lowest scenario. In the peak scenario, the balance volume increased by 7.6%, the equilibrium price fell by 5.7%, and the import of pork decreased by 5.7%. With the application of ICT, social welfare increased by 4,240 billion won in the lowest scenario, and the highest scenario increased by 16,559 billion won.

The purpose of this research was to develop a market forecast model for the duck industry based on basic statistics. During the last decades, duck meat consumption has increased considerably along with the increased concern for the consumer"s well-being that has contributed much to the continued growth of the duck industry. Amid such a trend, the demand by duck producers and policy makers for sound market forecast is high. With such a background, we first examined the production and consumption of duck meat, marketing system and integration of the duck industry, which is concentrated in Jeonnam, Chungbuk and Jeonbuk provinces. Based on 2005 agricultural census, we sampled 228 duck farms and made a questionnaire about breed, disease, and the productivity of individual duck farms. Secondly, we set up a supply-demand model. The purpose of developing the model was to demonstrate its goodness of fit by using production cycle, statistical data and farm surveys. But there were many uncertain factors, such as price fluctuation, disease and seasonal variation in duck breeding. Because of the uncertain market situation, there were several market problems, such as unstable income of duck producers and imbalance of supply and demand. In developing the supply-demand model, there are many limits: inconsistency of major data, time lag of statistics gathering, and lack of demand-side analysis. Nevertheless, the simulation results of this model showed that it can finally be used for forecasting the outlook of the duck market.

This study analyzes the economic impacts of livestock grading system focusing on Hanwoo. The livestock grading system in Korea starts from 1992 and has developed and modified until now. The grading system was introduced to establish the standards for livestock products. It has increased the credibility of livestock products marketed in the domestic market among consumers, producers, and marketers. The grading system gives economic incentives to domestic Hanwoo farms for making high quality beef. Also, it increases domestic consumers` welfare because the consumers are able to buy what they want with their willingness to pay under credible grading system. The grading system makes the marketing channels transparent and the domestic livestock industry has progressed. According to the comparative simulation modelling analysis, the economic impact of the grading system is calculated as 134∼1,024 billion won based on several assumptions. Although the current grading system has played an important role in domestic industry, it is still needed to improve consumers` satisfaction.
