        봉준호 영화의 어두운 공간에 대한 연구

        This article analyse Bong Jun Ho’s film through studying dark space. He is one of Korea’s directors who make works very livelily these days. The reason that I take note of dark spaces in Bong’s films is that he made films which shows us Korea’s real space by unique ways, and the process and consequences are very interesting. For example, the basement that he frequently shows give audience experiences which they never experienced before. In that basement, an oppressive investigation happens, and corpse leaved alone. The basement is not simple space which exist under the ground and that is very unique space which have korea’s characteristic that it prohibit. Dark space have one more meaning by Bong’s way which make audience gaze. He change his audience’s passive attitude when they see the movie at some point. For example, in the movie <Mother>,he describe one ally which have only dark image by long period. He describe that ally through long duration strangely so audience have guilty emotion that is like the moment when they see something secretly through small hole and they realize somebody knows the fact. This make audience’s gazing agrietared so they have active way about the movie. If the dark space is related with young girl’s protitution, now they realize this will be one space of they don’t know before. Drain, Basement, Ally and other dark spaces is the same effect in Bong’s film. So through this realization we expact that audience active attitude about social ills and this is one of important point in Refevre’s idea. In real world, Bong Jun Ho is progressive activist, so this will be supported by this fact. So in the movie <A Higher animal>, I analyse the space of skin which is under the pregnant wife’s stomach. Hero’s wife is pregnant in this film, so he shows concern baby’s state frequently. But the reason that he shows concern is not normal emotion. Because he don’t have jobs, he has burden about being a father. So he shift entire responsibility on the barking dogs cause that dog reminds the baby who make him a father. And he kill the barking dog, and among in the process he heard about boiler Kim’s story. After he recognize the basement has a corpse, he overcome the state not by just feeling boredom. When I analyse <Memories of murder>, I take note of space of stairs. The traits of stair inhances not athetic aspect but explanation of the character. Vertical order of rank that is very common notion in korea expose from stairs. Men who is higher level always move up and down from stairs, and a woman cop can not move up and down from stairs shows us that stair means the power of only mens. Also, through showing the drains of Han river bridge, Bong makes audience staired hidden space. And by that experience he make audience staired space that they never know. And the dark space that the murder is happen in the movie <Mother>,it brings us the fact that we can see someting of own aspect when we see the darkness. In the conclusion, the film of Bong gives us the notion of real aspect of korea through showing space which is hidden. This way is so smart ways of showing frames that korea can be shown very multipully because our nation have many spaces of darkness. The interest and enthusiasm to Bong’s film from audience of korea is reasonable reaction from this aspect.
