Purpose: To develop and apply evidence-based algorithms associated with the needle size used when the blood transfusion is to improve nursing practice. Methods: A transfusion algorithm developed by the Clinical Guideline of Adaption Manual (version 2.0), after voluntarily underwent training to nurses and patient groups in the study, confirmed the hemolytic reaction and Nursing satisfaction. Data were analyzed by statistical methods such as t-test, χ2 square using SPSS 20.0 program. Results: The hemolysis reaction between test and control groups applying evidence-based algorithm with no statistically significant difference (p=.921), but the average number of times per 1Unit flushing frequency was increased in the experimental group (p=.029), speed is also significantly reduced (p=.037). Nurse satisfaction is also higher in the experimental group indicated an algorithm was a significant difference between the two groups (p=.004). Conclusion: Without hemolytic transfusion reactions are possible with 22G catheter, and evidence-based algorithms developed through a review of the literature will help to improve efficiency and increase satisfaction of Nursing nurse.
