Current vehicle exhaust aftertreatment systems using mostly three way catalysts require a long light-off time. resulting in such a low conversion efficiency during cold start that these systems are very difficult to comply with the most stringent future emission regulations. As a promising alternative to overcome this shortcoming, a photocatalytic system has been recently developed. Even though. photocatalytic system is a one of the promising alternative. there are still problems to meet a future emission regulations. One of these is an insulation problem. Particulate matter in the exhaust gas can playa role to transmit electricity to exhaust pipe line at high voltage condition, the leakage of electricity can cause damage of ECU. So it is important to insulate photocatalytic reactor. To solve this insulation problem, new insulation body for high voltage is designed. In this study. electric power consumption of a photocatalytic reactor as a function of elapsed time have been investigated Aso, leakage voltage. UV intensity variation with a function of light exposure time.
