In this paper, we compared the handling performance of the genuine suspension system with the tuned suspension system. We changed the springs and shock absorbers in the front and rear suspension for the tuned suspension. The remaining parts in the suspension system was kept in the original state. Handling performance comparison was conducted in the Korea International Circuit (KIC) in Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do Because there is no test method for measuring the handling performance such as Double Lane Change and Constant Radius Cornering in the KIC, in this paper we compared the lateral G(g), yaw rate(deg/g) of the vehicle between the genuine and the tuned suspension. The Tuned suspension exhibited less roll gain of 0.11 deg/g than that of the genuine suspension, and the lateral G(g) limit increased as the lateral load transfer(LLT) decreased during cornering.

In this paper, we compare the characteristics of wheel geometry when wheel is loaded about real vehicle test result and VI-CRT. VI-CRT is capable of modeling based on Vertical, Roll, Steering, Lateral, Longitudinal and Align characteristic of basic measurement test of K&C. In addition, modeling using single travel and single compliance test result is also posssible to improve the analysis accuracy. When the results of the analysis program and the actual vehicle are compared through the K&C test function built into the VI-CRT, We confirmed that the analytical model including single mode shows higher accuracy.

In this study, we developed full vehicle model for vehicle dynamics simulation based on IPG CarMaker. Suspension components(spring and damper) characteristics test data apply using hydraulic actuator. Vehicle model K&C(Kinematic & Compliance) characteristics data apply using SPMD(Suspension Parameter Measurement Device). Vehicle handling dynamics test data measurement get using vehicle CAN, GPS/INS, WFT(Wheel Force Transducers). Finally, we compare developed virtual model simulation and vehicle handling dynamics test for model correlation analysis.
