This paper presents an experimental verification of the effects of material properties on the automotive performance, by conducting experiments on intermediate brackets. For the experimental purpose, same shapes of Intermediate brackets are used but different materials. It measures the engine side vibration, body side vibration, and interior noise of intermediate brackets for different materials, in the state of wide-open throttle. Analytical result of engine mount attenuation for each axis show that more stiff and massive it is the lower the automotive performance is. The important design variable for the intermediate bracket is the proper selection of material in the side of noise and vibration.

This paper studies Sound Transmission Loss Measurement of Front of Dash pass-through applying area weighting. In order to measure the Sound Transmission Loss of pass-through, Intensity method is used in a standardized fixture and installed in a window between Reverberation Room and Anechoic Chamber. The test panel for pass-through must be tested two configuration. The first one is called Homogeneous Panel and The second configuration is called Composite panel. This measurement is useful in qualifying the effectiveness Sound Transmission Loss of only pass-through.
