As large scale civil engineering constructions go on pushed by economic de-velopment, problems are emerging with regard to resource utilization and environmental preservation due to construction materials. In this circumstance, PET bottle as construction materials will make environment-friendly approach to more efficient recycling of resources. In this study, to utilize PET bottle as substitute by EPS, uniaxial test was performed on PET bottle, and compressive strengths were respectively compared and analyzed depending on whether dry ice is added or not. As a result, it was proposed that it can be applied to the field as substitute by EPS.

As the results of testing, the angle of shearing resistance increased as the surface of construction material was rougher and the relative density denser. The angle of shearing resistance are increased about 34°∼29°with crushed oyster shell/EPS and about 20° with EPS/EPS comparing to results of shear test.

The safety rate according to the location change of the trench crossing the soft ground counterweight fill can be interpreted. Here, the recording safety rate in which the soft ground depth will become intense the height of the dam body will be enhanced reduces. And the circular slip boundary line of the dam body is formed in the location which the safety rate reduces drastically and the common-point has to avoid the establishment of the transverse direction trench in the circular slip boundary line location.

최근 황토를 건설재료로 많이 사용하지만 황토의 공학적 특성을 고려하지 않고 일반 흙으로 취급하여 설계, 시공되어져 여러 가지 문제점이 발생되고 있는 실정이다. 황토는 그 자체적인 성질로는 토목공사에 효율적으로 활용하는데 있어 한계가 있기 때문에 효용성을 증대시키기 위하여 서 · 남해 청정해역에서 양식업 중 패류의 생산에서 부수적으로 발생하는 굴패각을 황토와 효율적으로 혼합 이용하여 건설재료의 대체 재료로 활용성을 연구하고자 한다. Recently loess are used as design and construction materials in some construction sites. However, many problems have come to the fore because the loess was considered merely as ordinary soil, not taking the engineering characteristics of loess into account at all. The purpose of this study is to effectively mix and use the oyster shell-which is the byproduct of oyster farming in the clean and pure water zone of Southwestern region-with loess in a bid to increase the utility, considering that loess itself has the limit for civil engineering purpose, and research the usability of oyster shell as an alternative material for construction.
