이 논문은 국내 학계에 평화경제론을 소개하고 한반도 문제에 적용해 그 시사점을 찾는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 평화경제론은 평화와 경제의 선순환이라는 일반적 이해를 넘어서서 ‘분쟁 후 국가의 평화구축’을 위한 이론적 틀로 이해될 필요가 있다. 이 논문은 평화경제와 관련된 그동안 축적된 국내외 학계의 성과를 소개하면서 특히, 통합 이론과의 차별성에 주목하며 한반도 평화프로세스를 위한 이론적 틀을 제시한다. 평화경제론은 한반도에 평화구축을 위한 적절성의 논리를 제공해 준다. 한국전쟁 이후 70여년 동안 고질적 장기 분쟁 구조 하에 놓인 한반도의 평화프로세스는 ‘분쟁 후 국가의 평화구축’의 관점에서 본 평화경제론이 제시하는 이론적 틀에서 새로운 시각과 해법을 발견할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. This study aims to introduce the peace economy theory and its application to the Korean Peninsula in order to encourage a theoretical understanding of peace economy in the Korean Academy of political science. The peace economy needs to be appreciated in terms of the theoretical framework to promote peace in the post-conflict state and society rather than a virtual cycle between peace and prosperity. This study introduces academic works in Korea and abroad, providing a new theoretical framework focusing on the theoretical merits of peace economy different from the existing integration theories. The differentiation of levels of peace across the different levels of analysis that peace economy suggests brings the logic of appropriateness to the peace process in the Korean Peninsula that appears to be in the middle of an inefficient historical path. The peace process in the Korean Peninsula under the long-term conflict structure in the 70 years after the Korean War is expected to find new perspectives and solutions from the theories of peace economy.
