A study has been made of spheroidization of eutectiferous silicon in the aluminum-silicon cast alloy. AC4C, by annealing under various conditions The spheroidzation could not be achieved by annealing for 27 hours below 400℃, whereas it was achieved relatively easily at temperatures above 500℃. Coarsening of the spheroidized silicon particles was controlled by diffusion. The tensile strength of the specimens increased when annealed at 500 and 550℃ and decreased when annealed at 350 to 450℃, whereas the elongation of all the specimens increased with annealing time.

Density distributions of sintered porous metal with various initial densities during hydrostatic compaction have been calculated using a proposed yield function. The calculation was performed using the iteration method. The caculated results were in very good agreement with experimental ones. The geometric hardening and material strain hardening of the metal were found to have an important effect on the porosity-pressure relation.
Recrystallization Texture of Cross Rolled 3.3% Si Electrical Steel

The recrystallization texture of cross rolled 3.3% Si electrical steel measured by Hayakawa and Kurasawa can be approximated by the {100}<011> orientation, which is similar to its cross-rolling texture. The result has been discussed based on the strain-energy-release-maximization model, in which, when the absolute max-imum stress directions obtained from the slip systems activated during deformation are crystallographically the same as the minimum Young’s modulus directions, the deformation texture remains unchanged after recrys-tallization. The cross-rolled electrical steel satisfies this criterion.

Stainless steel-copper-stainless steel composite sheets have been made by melting copper sandwiched between stainless steel sheets, followed by hot rolling. Effects of the melting time and temperature, and subsequent hot rolling on the mechanical properties of the sandwiched sheets were discussed on the basis of microstructures developed during fabrication. Flow curves or the composite sheets followed the rule of mixture. This was attributed not to the negligible transverse stresses compared to longitudinal stresses in the component layers, but to the fact that an increase in the longitudinal stress due to the tensile transverse stress developed in one component layer while a decrease in the longitudinal stress due to the compressive transverse stress in the other component layer.
FCC 및 BCC 판재금속의 평면이방성과 집합조직의 관계

판재의 理想집합조직에 바탕을 두고 집합조직과 소비변형비 및 항복강도의 평면이방성 사이를 관련 맺는 간단한 방법을 제시하였다. 이 방법을 이용하여 fcc금속과 bcc금속의 여러가지 집합조직에 대하여 R값과 항복강도를 인장방향에 따라 계산하였다. 계산값과 측정값사이의 일치는 만족스러웠다. Simple methods for the relationship between the crystallographic texture and planar anisotropy in the plastic strain ratio and the yield strength have been developed on the basis of ideal sheet textures. Calculation of the R value and the yield strength has been made using the methods as a function of tensile directions for various textures in fcc and bcc metals. The agreement between calculated and measured values was satisfactory.
