한국 사회에 이주민 유입이 급속히 증가하면서 현재 한국에 체류 중인 외국인은 120만 명이 넘었다. 다양한 민족이 함께 생활하게 되면서 복합적인 문화공간으로 확산되고 있으며, 여러 문화들이 파생되어 나타나고 있다. 특히 이들과 한국인들 간의 국제결혼이 증가하면서 자녀교육과 양육 등 사회적•문화적인 문제가 대두되고 있다. 그 동안 한국 사회에서는 이들을 이방인으로 인식해 왔지만, 이제는 한국 사회의 일원으로, 구성원으로 바라보아야 하며, 중장기적인 방안을 마련해야 한다. 이 연구에서는 결혼이주여성가정에 나타나는 문화 간 의사소통 실태를 문화교육을 중심으로 파악하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 현재 전국 다문화가족지원센터에서 시행되고 있는 다문화교육을 살펴보았다. 이러한 문제점을 분석하기 위해서 이론적 근거로 문화 간 커뮤니케이션을 활용하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 문화 간 의사소통의 본질적 문제점과 극복 방안을 제시하였다. 향후 본 연구에서 제안한 해결방안을 검토하여 정책결정에 반영하게 된다면 결혼이주여성 가정 뿐만 아니라 한국에 거주하는 이주민이 한국 사회의 구성원으로 성장함에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 본다. With the influx of rapidly increasing migrants in Korean society, foreigners who stay in Korea has reached at over 12 million people at present. On account that various races are living together, complex cultural space is expanded, and several cultures are derived from this change. Especially, education of children and child-rearing are raised as social and cultural issues due to the increase of international marriages between immigrants and Koreans. Meanwhile, they have been recognized as strangers in Korean society. However, it is urgent that they should be incorporated in Korean society as members of society, and medium or long-term methods should be provided. This study attempts to explore the actual condition of communication of international married family, which is shown between different cultures by focusing on cultural education. To achieve the goal, it examined multicultural education which has been carried out in the current center to support multicultural families across the nation. For analyzing problems, communication between cultures were employed as a theoretical basis. Accordingly, this study tried to suggest methods which can surmount the essential problems in communication of different cultures. If solution methods found in this study are reflected in the decision of policy, it will contribute to the growth of all immigrants as a member of the Korean society going beyond international married families.
