Recently construction of high-rise buildings is increasing in cities to maximize the usage of land in Korea. Since structural<br/> frame work in high-rise buildings have the largest component of duration and cost, accelerating schedule and reducing<br/> construction cost are important factors in the structural frame work. Therefore, the duration and construction cost trade-off are<br/> necessary to complete a structural frame economically. Accelerating schedule is more important than reducing construction cost<br/> in Korea because duration of high-rise buildings have large risk in finance. For accelerating schedule, the cycle time of<br/> structure work is shortened by these two methods: (1) forms are stripped early without cracking the concrete and increasing<br/> the deflection of slabs or girders by using the higher strength concrete than the designed one; (2) the number of form sets is<br/> increased. Although using the higher strength concrete and increasing the number of form sets result in increasing the direct<br/> construction cost, the budget cost is decreased by shortening the cycle time of structural frame work.
PS 띠장을 이용한 버팀대식 흙막이 공법의 적용 사례분석

The increasing land price and lack of space requires deeper and larger excavation in urban construction site. For<br/> this reason, the excavation is getting more important. The braced wall system is commonly used in the supporting<br/> system of deep excavation. But this system has some disadvantages; (1) it creates obstruction in the excavation work<br/> space; (2) it requires schedule delay and the high cost. Both are caused by the narrow support spacing of the strut.<br/> Therefore, the strut spacing should be extended to overcome these disadvantages. PS-Braced wall system, which has<br/> the prestressed wale, was suggested to overcome this narrow strut spacing. The purpose of this research was to<br/> introduce PS-Braced wall system and compare it with the braced wall system in terms of the constructablity and the<br/> cost through 4 case studies. According to each case, the quantity of material(H-beam) and the cost of retaining wall<br/> is reduced by 43.45% and 23.7% on average. And PS-wale method will reduce obstruction, delay and accidents in<br/> excavation work by extending the strut spacing.
