스포츠재활학 표준 교육과정 개발 방향: 영국스포츠재활사협회 교육체계를 중심으로

영국스포츠재활사협회(BASRaT, British Association of Sport Rehabilitators)가 제시한 교육 프레임 워크는 국내 스포츠재활학 교육과정 개발에 중요한 참고 자료라 할 수 있다. 이 교육과정은 이론과 실습의 통합을 강조하며, 학생들의 실질적인 기술 향상을 목표로 한다. 이는 이론 지식과 실제 사례 연구를 바탕으로 문제 해결 능력을 키우고, 스포츠재활 분야의 종합적인 전문성 함양에 기여한다. 그러나, 현재 국내 스포츠재활학 교육의 발전을 저해하는 여러 어려움이 있다. 대표적으로 스포츠재활 분야에 관한 인식 부족, 표준화된 교육과정의 부재, 그리고 체육과와의 모호한 구분 등을 예로 들 수 있다. 현재 BASRaT은 약 20개 대학교와 7개 대학원에 인증을 부여하며, 교육과정 표준화를 추진하고 있다. 이 교육과정은 해부학, 운동생리학, 운동역학, 스포츠손상학, 근골격계평가, 스포츠마사지, EBP(evidence-based practice), 부상치유기법, 재활운동원리, 스포츠심리학, 건강과 웰빙, 학업기술, 정보조사방법론, 현장실습 등 15가지 핵심 과목을 포함하고 있다. 이 연구는 BASRaT의 교육 프레임워크의 핵심 요소를 고려하여 한국 스포츠 재활학 교육과정 개발에 관한 체계적인 접근법을 제시한다. 이러한 접근을 통해 교육 방법과 평가가 적절히 설계됨에 따라 국내 학생들의 전문 기술과 경쟁력을 향상시킬 수 있을 것이다. 또한, BASRaT 교육과정의 도입이 국내 스포츠재활 분야 전문가를 양성하는데 기여할 것으로 기대한다. The educational framework established by the British Association of Sport Rehabilitators (BASRaT) can provide a valuable reference for the development of domestic sports rehabilitation curricula. This curriculum, emphasizing the integration of theory and practice, is designed to enhance students’ practical skills. In doing so, it fosters problem-solving abilities underpinned by theoretical knowledge and practical case studies, contributing to comprehensive expertise in the field of sports rehabilitation. However, certain challenges impede the progression of sports rehabilitation education in Korea, including a lack of awareness about the field, the absence of standardized curricula, and ambiguous differentiation from physical education departments. Presently, BASRaT is undertaking curriculum standardization with accreditation conferred to 20 universities and seven graduate schools. This curriculum encompasses 15 core subjects: Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, Sports Injuries, Musculoskeletal Assessment, Sports Massage, Academic Skills/Methods of Enquiry, Evidence Based Practice, Injury Treatment Modalities, Principles of Exercise and Rehabilitation, Sports Psychology, Sports Biomechanics, Exercise Prescription for Public Health and Wellbeing. This study is predicated on the curriculum put forth by BASRaT. The findings shed light on a systematic approach to the curriculum development for Korea’s Department of Sports Rehabilitation, considering the key elements of BASRaT’s framework. Such an approach can enhance domestic students’ professional skills and competitiveness, provided the educational methods and evaluations are appropriately designed. Moreover, this emphasis on the BASRaT curriculum can foster professionals with specialized expertise in the domain of domestic sports rehabilitation.
