4차 산업혁명 관련기업의 연구개발투자와 기업가치에 관한 연구

본 연구는 먼저 4차 산업혁명 핵심기술과 관련있는 기업의 연구개발투자 비중을 실증분석하여 산업부문별로 차이가 있는지 확인하였다. 그리고 4차 산업혁명 핵심기술 관련기업의 연구개발투자가 기업가치를 높이는지 실증분석하였다. 본 연구는 4차 산업혁명 핵심기술 관련기업의 연구개발투자 비중과 기업가치에 대한 연구가 없는 상황에서 우리나라 4차 산업혁명 핵심기술 관련기업의 산업부문별 연구개발투자 현황을 파악하고 그에 따른 기업가치에 대한 영향에 대한 의미있는 정보를 제공하는데 차별점이 있다. 본 연구는 4차 산업혁명이 시작된 것으로 보는 2015년부터 2017년까지 코스피시장과 코스닥시장에 상장된 기업을 대상으로 연구개발투자를 한 기업 중 다음과 같은 조건을 만족하는 기업을 선정하였으며, 실증분석에 사용한 최종표본은 3,642개(기업-연도)이다. 분석결과를 정리하면, 4차 산업혁명 핵심기술 관련기업의 연구개발투자는 해당기업의 기업가치를 높이는 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있다. 그러나 4차 산업혁명 기반산업별로 분석한 결과는 IT서비스, 통신서비스, 전자, 기계장치 관련기업의 연구개발투자는 해당기업의 기업가치를 높이는 영향을 주지 못했다. 이는 연구개발투자의 성과는 단기간에 나타나는 것이 아니고 장기간에 걸쳐 나타나는 때문인 것으로 해석 할 수 있다. 그러나 바이오·의료 관련기업들의 연구개발투자는 기업가치를 높이는 영향을 주는 것을 알 수 있다. 본 연구의 한계점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 4차 산업혁명 기반산업을 구분하는데 있어 4차 산업혁명 핵심요소기술이 중복되거나 누락된 표본이 있을 수 있다. 둘째, 분석표본이 상장기업에 한정되어 있어 연구결과를 일반화하는데 한계가 있다. 셋째, 4차 산업혁명에 대응하기 시작한 기간이 짧으므로 연구개발투자가 기업가치에 충분히 반영될 만한 분석기간이 아니라는 한계점이 있다. I analyzed the R&D investment of the companies related to the fourth industrial revolution core technology. I found R&D investment is different for each industrial sector. I also analyzed if the R&D investment of the companies related to the fourth industrial revolution core technology enhance the firm value. There are few research about the relation between the R&D investment of the companies related to the fourth industrial revolution core technology and firm value. I want to provide meaningful information about the R&D investment of the companies related to the fourth I selected 3,642(firm-year) sample firms from KOSPI and KOSDAQ market during the year of 2015 and 2017. The result of my research are as follows. First, the companies related to the fourth industrial revolution core technology invest more in R&D. IT service companies, electronics l found out that the R&D investment of the companies related to the fourth industrial revolution core technology increase the firm value. However, the R&D investment of the IT service companies, electronics companies, mechanical equipment companies do not increse the firm value. This result may be due to the fact that the R&D investment does not increase the firm value in a short period. The R&D investment of the biotechnology and medical companies was found to increase the firm value. The limit of this research are as follows. First, the fourth industrial revolution core technology might be duplicated or omitted during the process of classifying the fourth industrial revolution companies. Second, the research result may not be generalized since the research samples are limited to the public companies. Third, the sample period was so short that the R&D investment have little impact on the firm value.
