20세기 20년대에 이르러 서구 모더니즘은 거의 동시에 한ㆍ중 양국에 들어왔으며 양국 모더니즘 문학의 선도자인 김기림과 원이둬(聞一多)는 서구 모더니즘을 수용하는 동시에 한국과 중국문단에서 일으킨 풍파를 바로 잡기 위하여 새로운 시론을 내놓았다. 우선, 김기림과 원이둬는 시론에서 모두 낭만주의에 대한 태도를 밝혔다. 두 사람은 서로 다른 각도에서 낭만주의를 논의하였으나 감상적 낭만주의의 ‘情感至上’을 비판하는데서 서로 공감한바 있다. 또한, 김기림과 원이둬는 지성을 중심으로 하는 주지주의 경향을 보여주었고 그 중 김기림은 주지주의를 좀 더 깊이 연구하여 한국의 주지주의 문학을 일으켰다. 마지막으로, 김기림과 원이둬의 ‘전체’시론과 ‘三美’이론은 많은 공통점이 있다. 차이가 있다면, 김기림의 ‘전체’시론이 한국 문단에서 일어난 편내용주의와 편기교주의를 극복하고 조화를 이루기 위한 시적 창작을 추구함으로 문예사조의 혁신을 도모했다면 원이둬의 ‘三美’이론은 시 창작의 규칙으로서 창작의 실천적 혁신을 도모했다. 본 논문은 김기림과 원이둬의 시론 비교를 통하여 한ㆍ중 초기 모더니즘 시론의 유사성을 고구하고, 같은 시기에 서구 모더니즘 영향을 받은 두 사람의 시론이 많은 유사성을 보인 것은 우연 중의 필연임을 밝히려는 것이다. Western modernism entered into Korea as well as China almost at the same time in1920s, as pioneers of modernist literature, Kim Ki-Rim and Wen Yiduo put forward their poetic theories applicable to their own countries respectively in combination with the trend of western modernist literary thoughts. In spite of differences, these two poets (they) share much amazing similarities, such as both are opposed to the romanticism, lay emphasis on rationalism that transcends emotion, attach great importance to the beauty of music and artistry in poeticcreation, as well as the beauty of poetics construction. Through making a comparative study of poetic theories between two poets, the author finds that the similarities and differences of poetic theories between Korean-Sino modernist literature in its initial era exert an significant (vital) role in fully comprehensive study of Korean-Sino modernist literature.
