This paper focused on the process of word-formation by reanalysis in Korean: Lexical restructuring and Back-formation. Lexical restructuring and back-formation are done by reanalyzing of existing forms. Reanalysis refers to the phenomenon of analyzing a new expression that did not exist previously due to the ambiguity of the pattern. There are two types of reanalysis and those are reanalysis in internal boundaries and a reanalysis in external boundaries. Lexical restructuring refers to the replacement of existing word forms by newly formed word forms. Back-formation refers to the formation of a new word form that did not exist by reanalyzing and clipping. Both lexical restructuring and back-formation have in common in that their existing forms are reanalyzed in a completely different way. Word-formation by lexical restructuring is composed of reanalysis of the derivative form and of the inflective form. Back-formation is composed of back-formation of derivation, of refraction, and of phrase.
