崔漢綺의 『身機踐驗』을 읽는 또 하나의 독법 : 거시담론과 미시담론의 틈새로 보기

『身機踐驗』은 崔漢綺(1803-1877)가 1866년에 출간한 醫學書이다. 최한기는 조선시대 최고의 독서광이자 가장 많은 저술을 남긴 학자로 꼽힌다. 달리 말하면 다양한 학문을 섭렵하고, 이를 자신의 학문 체계로 재구성하였다고 할 수 있다. 자신의 사상을 수립함에 있어 중요한 기준으로 經驗을 내세우며, 實證的이고 分析的인 서구의 학문적 태도를 바탕으로 한다. 본고에서 다룬 『신기천험』 또한 이러한 면모가 잘 드러나 있다. 『신기천험』은최한기의 의학사상을 밝히는 데 통용되는 저술로, 이에 대한 논의는 대개 서양과 동양을 절충한 것으로 귀결된다. 하지만, 최한기는 우리의 몸을 어떻게 직접 경험할 수 있는가에 중점을 두고 서양의 기계학적 의학이론, 해부이론 등을 역설한다. 자신의 氣論에 입각하여 거시적 담론을 전개하면서, 미시적 담론은 서양의 의학사상을 그대로 차용하는 격차에 주목하여 최한기의 독특한 의학론을 살펴본다. The book ""Singicheonheom(身機踐驗)" is a medical one written by Choi Hangi(1803-1877) in 1866, who was one of the best bookworms and the most prolific writers in Joseon Dynasty. In other words, he ranged over an extensive literature and reorganized it into his own literary system. He emphasized on the experiences in establishing his own thoughts, on the basis of the western positive and analytic attitude, which the above book, studied on in this article, well shows. This book is important in showing his medical thoughts, considered to be a compromise between the West and the East. He, however, focused on how we can directly experience our own bodies and argued for the mechanical medical theory and anatomical theory of the West. He, characteristically, unfolded his broad discourses based on his own Ki(氣) theory, and, at the same time, thoroughly acceptedthe western medical thoughts in the narrow discourses. We examine his unique medical theory, focusing on his contradictory attitudes.
