This paper describes the problems of the conventional multiple low earth orbit (LEO) satellite beam hopping (BH) technique in servicing practical traffic demand. Specifically, practical traffic demand has a high-traffic demand area that consists of adjacent hot spot cells. As the BH technique cannot simultaneously service adjacent cells together, the conventional BH technique has the limitation of servicing adjacent hot spot cells. Simulation results show that the conventional BH technique works well with uniform traffic demand distribution of user equipment (UE), but not with non-uniform traffic demand distribution.
