구조방정식 모형을 활용한 전문대학 중도탈락 원인 분석: 대학경험의 매개효과를 중심으로

이 연구는 전문대학의 중도탈락 원인을 구조방정식 모형을 통하여 분석하고자 하였다. 성 별, 출신고교, 고교졸업시기, 입학전형, 고등학교 GPA, 합격시기 등을 외생변인으로 설정하고, 학문적 경험과 사회적 경험으로 구성되는 대학경험을 구분하여 매개변인으로 설정하여 중도 탈락에 대한 직접적 효과와 간접적 효과를 분석하였다. 연구모형에 포함된 모든 항목의 정보 를 가지고 있는 2개교 신입생 4,914명 전원에 대한 입학 및 재학기록 자료를 중심으로 통계 분석을 실시하였다. 분석모형의 적합도는 GFI=0.998로서 매우 높은 적합도를 나타냈다. 외생 변인 가운데 성별과 고교졸업시기만이 중도탈락에 직접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나 대학경험 을 통한 간접효과는 입학전형과 합격시기를 제외한 모든 변인들에서 유의하게 나타났다. 대 학경험이 중도탈락에 미치는 영향의 경우, 학문적 경험은 효과가 없었고, 사회적 경험만이 유 의한 효과를 나타냈다. This study aimed to investigate the relationship among exogenous variables, mediators, and dependent variable, i.e., dropout in junior college in Korea by AMOS structural equation model. Sex, graduated high school, time of graduation, admission type, high school GPA, and time of admission belonged to exogenous variables. College experiences, broken down to academic and social experiences, were regarded as mediators. Data for the statistical analysis were from two junior colleges which had all the information about the variables in the model. The goodness of fitness value was high as GFI=.998. The results were as follows. Only sex and time of graduation out of six exogenous variables had significant effects on dropout directly. Indirect effects of all the exogenous variables, excluding admission type and admission time, on dropout through college experiences were statically significant. Social experiences influenced dropout directly, while academic experiences had no effect on dropout.
