Nowadays Korea needs to develop more effective and progressive music teaching techniques then ever. The purpose of this study was to investigate the applicability of new teaching methods such as Orff to grade general music. What Orff s musical teaching method is looking for is player‘ s personality and to develop students’ musical talent by helping them play creative ensemble in free atmosphere. By using these media, the lesson is presented in order of imitation, exploration, literacy, and improvisation. In this reason, Orff s teaching method is applied to middle school classes and here are teaching-learning lesson plans for improvisation, movement, and ensemble. The plans for improvisation include that students play rhythms and melodies impromptu while reading a poem. The plans for movement deal with expressing body movement matching the change of tempo and feelings arising from pictures presented. Orff s teaching method is for developing students creativity. If the music teachers learn it and apply it to musical classes, the more students will have favorable attitude toward music.
