Magnesium, which is the lightest amongst metals, has excellent material properties, such as specific strength and stiffness, ability to be cast, ability to be machined, vibration and shock-absorption ability, and fatigue resistance. As the supply of portable electronic devices, such as laptop computers and mobile phones, has been increasing, the demand for new material that possesses the attributes of recyclability and durability as well as the ability to effectively shield electromagnetic waves, which are harmful to human beings, has increased. Thus, this study aims to predict the heating time by which the temperature of the material reaches the desired temperature given a range of 150-350℃ for the die temperature. Moreover, thus far, studies about the deep drawing of magnesium sheets have focused mostly on the forming limit, microstructural change, and anisotropy that arise from rectangular, circular deep-drawing and piercing process However, research has not been reported on the effect of the clearance between the die and punch on the change in the thickness of the material, when complex shapes, such as those of electronic and automobile components, are formed by three deep-drawing. Thus, this study predicts the change in the material thickness and the forming depth at the firs forming process that produces the rectangular cup by the deep drawing of the rectangular blank. To experiment of three step deep drawing, The used magnesium sheet is fabricated with twin roll strip casting and its rolling process. The other magnesium sheet to deep drawing is fabricated by extrusion process. After three step deep drawing with rectangular shape circular shape and piercing process, respectively, the formability and thickness variation has been investigated for variation of punch speed and forming temperature.

A DPF. system using glass fabric filter was designed and tested at the Andong National University jointly with Sea Woon Industrial Co.. The high temperature resistant glass filter. in the woven. felt. or needle punched forms ‘ filters PM and some CH parts when diesel exhaust gas passes through it. The filter is fully loaded with PM and CH accumulation typically after several thousand kilometers of vehicle operation. The fabric part of the DPF system is then either manually cleaned or replaced if necessary. Preliminary test results show good filtering efficiency and low pressure drop across the fabric filter. Comparing with the other DPF system with automatic filter regeneration by burning. the system has simple structure due to the lack of the complex automatic regeneration system and its control units. Therefore. most importantly. the combined initial installation and maintenance cost is expected to be much lower. approximately by a factor of ten. Vehicles equipped with this system. however. require manual cleaning or replacing the fabric part of the filter at relatively short interval. Commuter bus. heavy duty trucks. and garbage trucks with light maintenance capability would be the perfect application for this system. A number of the glass fabric DPF systems has been fabricated and tested on the 1, 2.5 and 5 ton diesel trucks. Design philosophy and some preliminary test results are discussed

The stability assessment of rock slope in preliminary site investigations is used stereonet that based on stereographic projection. The stereographic pojection is combined daylight envelope with friction cone and toppling envelope. Use of overlays with the plotted and contoured field data considerably simplifies stability assessment for rock slope stability. This paper recommends that such a stability assessment should be carried out in intended excavations in rock.
