[동력전달계부문] R-R CHART에 의한 자동변속기 파워트레인 분석

A new point of view in automatic transmission is proposed by R-R CHART, which is a new analytic method based on the principle of planetary gear and gear shift mechanism. This paper shows that R-R CHART is unique in 4 speed automatic transmission with fixed compound planetary gear sets.<br/> As a result of the application of R-R CHART, this paper classifies the fixed compound planetary gear sets with 4 elements into 12 sets and gear shift mechanism into 3 types. Also, this paper derives 4 R-R characteristic equations as a correlation between gear ratios in 4 speed automatic transmission.<br/>

A new approach method has been attempted to unify the basic relationship between torque and gear ratio during the gear shift for all multi-step automatic transmissions including dual clutch transmission. This study describes the unified concept model regardless of the specific transmission layout and derives the principal unified equations, which show that the control torque of friction element is a function of the ratio of change of slip speed to change of input speed and the energy loss of friction element is a function of gear shift time and gear ratio. These simple and conceptual equations are applicable to develop the gear shift control strategy and energy capacity of friction element.

The innovative program to design new structures of multi-speed automatic transmission is proposed with the optimized logics in each process from generating fixed member to implement single transition in shift table. The program solved astronomical number of combinations of planetary gears and clutch members by calculating the performance such like gear efficiency, speed, torque and etc. As a result of the application of the program, this paper shows new multi speed automatic transmission and possibility for the new concept of transmission.
