        朴榮完 관동대학교 1984 關大論文集 Vol.12 No.1

The Eym Young Ji is a kind of chromicle which is written about many kinds of specific features such a history, geogrpy, culture, and industry on the region of Gang-Reung area as well a on that of Chung-Son, Phung-Chang, and In-Je Goon. Being compiled entirely on the specific region of Gang-Reung area including Chung-Son distrits, the book is regarded as an indispensable source for the study of those regions because of the fact that a lot of the historical records in those districts are contained in the book. The book was compiled by the reference to the historical facts written in the Sam0Kook Chronicles and various historical annals such as the official records of those days including traditional facts handed down by work of mouth. Therefore, the book is the most valuable material of history in the field of researching for the regional studies around Gang-Reung area, even though there are a few defects both in the treatment of some contents and in the way of compilation of the book. It is quite difficult these days to get the chronicle in this area, for the publication of the book has been stopped for many years. Therefore, it is a serious problem that there are few people who can read the book without deep knowledge of chinese characters, although they have any opportunities to read the book. In order to solve the serious problems, I have tried to explain about the book as a whole, which will be reported in the Journal of "The Gang-Won Province Folklore." It is quite difficult to introduce the whol aspects of the book within limited space of the Journal, but the chronicle will be explained in brief according to the contents and order throughout the book. In short, Eym-Young chronicl is a panoramic living classics of eastern area which comprehends various materials about the history, geography, and cultures of this region. The book is classified into sixty contents without a certain structure in itself, but especially the part of chineses literature at the end of the book represents the real aspects of gang-Reung is famous for its literary tradition in our country.

Sin Saim-Dang was the first-class woman writer of poems and painting during Yi-dinasty(1504∼1551), I have applied myself to the study on Sin Saim-Dang with a view to realize her Chanese Poems and Painting. Through the consideration of her literal idea and atmosphere of her period, I have made an attempt to approach her fineness gradually with these considerations, I can hardly understand her stand, but aimed to practice her literal fineness as national (fork) poem and develop her field, gaining following conclusions: First, in her life and humanity, she was of nobolity during Yi-dinasty living in Gang Reuong her beautiful hometown, she met with many famous writer and their works. Staying her hometown after marriage, with her old, lonesome mother, she left for Seoul, she yearned her mother and hometown. Second, in the field of her writing, divided into three parts: "Looking down home, on Mt. Daegwanryong (leaving for Seoul)" "Filial Duty" in these poems, we can see her filial piety for herlonesome, old mother. Third, in her works, she showed her outstanding description of feelings. Indeed she was a filial daughter. Lastly I can only marvel at her endless richness of art, miraculous singularity and finenss. I should have the further study about her filial duty displayed in her work. Yulgog-YiYi is the philosopher, thinker and statesman most famous throughout our history Behind a great man is an affectionate mother who inspired her son to lead him to success; So was benign mother behind Yulgog-YiYi Whose name we call Lady Shin, Sain-Dang. On the contary, in the case of Lady Shin, Saim-Dang, it may well be said that Yulgog-YiYi added his reputation to that of his mothers but even if he had never archived any fame whatsover our Lady Shin, Saim-Dang could be remembered for ages to come regardless of her son. For putting aside the fact that she was, in the Oriental way, filial to her parents; faithful to her husband, a good mother to her children, she was an her own, a scholar, poetess, painter, calligrapher a multitalent vested even in embroidery.

Hwang Jin-I was the first-clall famous Gisaeng writer of Korean and Chinese poems at that time of the King Choog-Jong of during Yi Dynaty(?-?). She must have written aLot of works. But there have Left today, to our much grierance, only seven Chinese poems and six Korean sonnets. For women, it was much confined to social activity, hardly ever dreaming of artistic flavous. However, being a keesaing, she has Left many a romantic episode of love and poems. For her queer Life and excellent poetic taste, it became a source of admiration of mordern people. As yet, the assessment of her was just limited only in the sentimental feeling. If is my intention to reorganize the records on the old storys which are left almost in fiction and to review her poetic world from her life as a human being. Her poems, outbursted by her fervent affection was just the reflection of her free romantic life. It was her works, anguish for love throughout her life and so crytalized by her earnest desire. I have made an attempt to approach her fineness gradually with these considerations. I can hardly understand her stand, but aimed to practice her literal fineness as national (folksong) poem and develop her field, in her life and humanity, She was of nobolity during Yi Dinasty living in Gae Sung her beautiful hometown, she met wish many famous writer and their literary works. For these, her literary works could be surrived through out the history and might be, day by day, ever more twinkling as lond as there remains people longing for love. Lastly I can only marvel at her endless richness of art. Miraculous singularity and fineness. I should have the further study about her filial duty displayed in her literary works.
