체크 밸브는 일정한 방향으로 유체가 흐를 수 있도록 하며 압력차에 의해 발생된 유량으로 개폐되는 밸브이다. 또한, 유체의 역류를 방지하여 배관 시스템을 보호하는 역할을 한다. 체크밸브는 다양한 종류가 있지만 그중 이중 판막 체크밸브의 경우 낮은 슬래밍 효과와 적은 생산비용으로 제작할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 2인치 이중 판막 체크밸브를 운용 유량에서 압력강하가 최소로 발생할 수 있도록 설계하였고, 목표 압력강하는 2psid 이하이다. 체크 밸브 설계 및 유동 해석을 바탕으로 압력강하가 추산되었고, 실험적 검증을 위해 실제 형상이 제작되었다. 압력강하 시험 결과는 예측 및 분석결과와 유사하게 압력강하가 계측되었고, 목표 압력강하를 만족함을 확인하였다. A check valve allows the piped flow to maintain its intended direction and this can be opened or closed according to the flow rate caused by the pressure differentials. It also serves to protect the piping system by preventing reverse flow. A check valve, known as dual-plate, has the advantages of low slamming effect and production cost over other types of check valve. In this paper, a 2-inch dual-plate check valve is chosen and designed to minimize the pressure drop at the operating pressure, which aims to allow pressure drop across the check valve to be less than 2 psid. Pressure drop was estimated based on design calculations and flow analysis, and the actual valve was manufactured for the experimental verification. As a result of the pressure drop test, it was observed that the pressure drops were within the satisfied range showing some similarity in trend with the estimation and analysis result of those.
