呂南會 東亞大學校附設스포츠科學硏究所 1987 스포츠科學硏究論文集 Vol.5 No.-

The purpose of this study is to examine the specificity of maximum aerobic power and the anaerobic threshold (AT) in Korean marathoners and middle distance runners. Laboratory and field assessements were made on fifteen highly trained male marathoners and nine middle distance runners. Each subjects completed a continuous multic-stage treadmill running exercise procedure designed to achieve maximum oxgen uptake (VO₂max.) within 12 to 20 minutes. The treadmill grade was elevated 4%. The test was being performed till a subject could not do a work bout. They were also tested for distance of 10km track running performanc, and the heart rate of each subject 10km running performance was monitored by using the telemetry heart checker system. Four criteria were used to determine each subject's anaerobic threshold (AT): 1) a point of abrupt increase in the minute ventilation (VE) without an increase in oxygen uptake, 2) a point of abrupt in crease in VCO₂without an increase in oxygen uptake, 3) an increase in the veitilatory equivalent for oxygen without an increase in ventilatory equivalent for CO₂, 4) an increase in FEO₂without a decrease in FECO₂. As the results of this study, conclusions were obtained as follows: The means for the age, height, weight, resting heart rate, and athletic career of the trained male marathoners (middle distance runners) were 22.1 years(20.8), 172.4cm(171.1). 61.2kg(59.7), 57.4bpm(65.8), and 9.1 years(5.6), respectively, The average means of maximal oxygen uptake (VO₂max.) were 81.4mℓ/kg/min. in marathoners and 79.3mℓ/kg/min. in middle distance runners and those of maximal heart rate were 207bpm and 211bpm, respectively. Maximal oxygen uptake at anaerobic threshold (AT-VO₂max.) was 66.6mℓ/kg/min. in marathoners and 65.8mℓ/kg/min. in middle distance runners. Dependent 't' tests for Vo₂max indicated that the marathoners scored higher values than the middle distance runners but the difference was not statistically significant. The anaerobic threshold (AT) was expressed by a percent of VO₂max. It was 81.8% in marathoners, 83.6% in middle distance runners that had occured in maximal oxygen uptake, and those of AT-%HRmax were 91.8% and 91.3%. This was shown at maximal heart rate, respectively. The results of this study indicated that the anaerobic threshold (AT) is a better index than any others in training and evaluation for performance of athletes and is more closely associated with self-running pace in marathoners.
