Performance of 8PSSK with EGC diversity Reception in Rician Fading Channel

This paper presents average symbol error rate of 8PSSK modulation when MRC diversity is applied in fading channel. The fading channel is modeled as frequency non-selective slow Rician fading channel corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN). Error performances are shown for 8PSSK compared with 8PSK in order to examine the effects of fading severity, for various values of Rician parameter, K. The dependence of error rates on EGC diversity is also analyzed. The results of simulation in this paper show that SER performance of 8PSSK is better than that of 8PSK under above conditions
