        외국어로서의 한국어교육에서 대중 공개 온라인 강좌(MOOCs) 개발과 운영 실제 -“First Step Korean” 사례를 중심으로-

        This study is to examine the nature and philosophy of MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) and to explore a possibility of developing a Korean language course in MOOCs. Researchers in Korean Education as a foreign language who are not familiar with recent development, the MOOC is a tuition-free online course taught globally to a large number of students. It is necessary to review the previous research related on the MOOC that has recently emerged as an alternative to higher education. This paper provides a brief explanation of its birth, development and rapid growth of MOOCs. On February 5th of this year, the introductory Korean language course ``First Step Korean`` was launched on Coursera``s worldly MOOC platform. Information regarding the procedure of development and the state of enrollment in the course for the past two months are presented within this study. Discussion and suggestions are included for instructors and researchers who intend to design a Korean language course on the platform for global MOOCs.

        한국어 쓰기 교육 연구 동향 분석

        Korean writing education research has been conducted since the 1980`s; however, a comprehensive review of research in Korean writing education has thus far not been executed. A thorough review of previous research on Korean writing education is needed to identify topics and relevant methodology. The purpose of this study is to analyze previous research on Korean writing education. This study consists of a review of 333 published studies on Korean writing education, as well as academic dissertations. The research was analyzed based on three variables: chronology, topic and methodology. There was a total of 7 sub-categories for topics: general writing education, error analysis, teaching and learning, curriculum development, textbooks, text analysis, and evaluation. The reviewed studies were organized into three types of research methodology.

        연해주 고려인 청소년을 위한 현지에서의 단기 한국어 교육과정 개발 연구 -요구 분석을 중심으로-

        본 연구는 요구 분석을 중심으로 연해주 고려인 청소년을 위한 현지에서의 단기 한국어 교육과정 개발을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 계승어 교육에 대한 연해주의 한국어 교육 관련 사회단체와 고려인 부모 세대의 필요 및 고려인 청소년 학습자의 요구를 조사하였고 관련 교재와 선행 연구를 검토하여 교수요목 설계에 참고함으로써 학습 내용의 적절성과 전문성을 높이고자 하였다. 이를 토대로 “연해주의 고려인 청소년이 계승어와 그 문화에 대한 초급 수준의 학습을 통해 러시아 국민이자 한민족으로서의 복합적이고 안정된 정체성 구성을 시도하고 한국어로 삶의 의미와 이익을 지속적으로 추구할 수 있도록 정규 교육과정에 대한 참여 동기를 부여한다.”라는 단기 교육과정의 목적을 설정하였다. 교수요목 설계에 있어서는 언어 사용의 실제성을 높이기 위하여 상황 중심 교수요목을 중심으로 각 상황에 연해주 현지 정보를 반영하였으며 학습자 정체성과 직접 관련된 문화 교육을 위해서는 주제 중심 교수요목을 토대로 연해주 고려인의 복합적 정체성을 구성하는 데에 초점을 맞추고자 하였다. This paper aims to develop a short-term Korean language curriculum for Koryosaram youths in the Maritime Province of Russia (MPR) through needs analysis. To this end, the needs of social organizations, Koryosaram parents, and youth learners in MPR were analyzed for heritage language education, and related textbooks and previous studies were reviewed to reference in the syllabus design. Based on this, we set the purpose of the curriculum: “Koryosaram youths in MPR attempt to construct a complex and stable identities as Russian citizens and Korean people through beginner-level learning about the heritage language and its culture. Besides, it motivates participation in the regular curriculum so that they can continuously pursue the meaning and benefits of their lives through the Korean language.” Among the syllabus design, a situational syllabus was selected to increase the authenticity of language use, and local information of MPR was reflected in each situation. In addition, for cultural education related to the learners’ identity, a theme-based syllabus was selected and aimed to help Koryosaram in MPR construct a complex identity.

        한국어교육 박사학위 논문의 연구 동향 분석 - 연구 주제 및 방법을 중심으로 -

        This study is to examine 332 doctoral dissertations of Korean language education in order to discuss academic research in terms of methodological perspectives regarding research topic and research method. Before analyzing research, the nature of research is discussed: what research is, research tradition and research methods to carry out research. As a result, 7 research topics were identified: general discussion of Korean education, Korean education contents, Korean language teaching and learning, evaluation, Korean language acquisition, teacher related, learner related. Regrading research methodology, there were 7 research methodological approaches: experimental research, survey, case study, ethnography, narrative inquiry, mixed methods, literature research. And sub-research methods such as contrast analysis, error analysis, Korean textbook analysis, text analysis, discourse analysis were also found. (Yonsei University)

        계승어로서의 한국어 교육(Korean Education as a Heritage Language)에 대한 소고: 방향과 향후 과제

        This article is to discuss the issues of Korean Education as a Heritage Language that has been explored thus far. It is true that the discussion of academic identity of Korean Education has been focused on academic spheres which is composed of. Possible approach could be on practise of Korean Education according to an object of teaching Korean. This article is to identify the following questions: Firstly, this article is to review the existing terms that have been suggested in a variety of terms for Korean as a Heritage Language (KHL). Secondly, this is to emphasize on its indispensability for Koreans overseas in the basis on the present state and background of their emigration. Thirdly, it is to propose philosophy and objectives as well as future direction or task of Korean Education as a Heritage Language for overseas Korean. Great emphasis on a comprehensive discussion has to be put in terms of establishing academic identity of Korean Education.

        한국어 교사, 학습자 관련 한국어 교육 연구 동향 분석

        A comprehensive review of research on Korean teachers and learners in Korean Language Education with the aim of examining previous research has thus far not been executed, though Korean as a second language has been taught in an organized fashion for over 50 years. A thorough review of the previous research on Korean teachers and learners in Korean language Education will assist in harmonizing theory with practice. This study will analyse previous research on Korean teachers and learners in Korean 1anguage education in order to review the tendency of the field. About 134 studies on Korean teachers and learners in Korean language education published in the journals related to Korean language education as well as academic dissertations made up this study. The research was analysed based on five variables: chronology, research published type, topic and methodological type. There was a total of 11 academic categories for topics.

        프랑스어권 재외동포 맞춤형 한국어 교재 개발 -프랑스 파리 한글학교를 중심으로-

        A Study on the development of an end user fitted Korean textbook for Korean Heritage learners in France: Focused on ``Paris Hangul-hakkyo``. Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language, 37, 1~39. This paper is to introduce the process of developing an end user fitted Korean textbook for Korean Heritage learners in France. The demand for Korean textbook for heritage learners living abroad has been increasing, it is desirable to give support to researchers developing the textbook for Korean Heritage learners. Since 2010, the studies on developing Korean textbook for Korean Heritage learners in some nations have been carried out on purpose of distributing outcomes. The paper was to investigate the present state of ``Hangulhakkyo`` in France and to analyze needs of learners and teachers for developing a Korean textbook, eventually to develop 1-6 Korean textbooks for Korean Heritage learners in France.

        한국어교육 60년을 통해 본 한국어 학습자의 변천

        본 연구는 국내 한국어교육의 60년 역사 동안 한국어 학습자들의 변화를 살펴보는 데 목적이 있다. 우선, 한국어 학습자들의 학습 목적의 측면에서 1950년대 말 이후 변화를 살펴보고자 한다. 다음으로 학습자 변인 즉, 학습자들의 지역, 성별, 연령, 숙달도 등에 따라 어떻게 변화해 왔는지 살펴본다. 끝으로 2016년 이후 한국어 학습자들의 특징 및 한국어교육의 향후 과제 등을 전망해 보고자 한다. 이와 같은 연구 문제를 중심으로 살펴본 결과 1960년대 초-70년대 말 한국어 학습자들은 한국어만 아니라 한국 문화를 학습하는 데에 힘을 쏟으며 복음을 전하고자 했던 선교사들이 중심이 되었다. 그 이후 70년대를 지나 80년대 말까지는 전문직 혹은 언론 분야 직업의 일본인 학습자들과 같은 특수목적 학습자들이 주를 이루었다. 90년대 말 이후 한국어 학습자 분포에서 눈에 띄는 변화는 중국인 학습자와 같은 학문목적 학습자 비율이 증가한 점이다. 최근 고등교육의 대안으로 떠오른 MOOC(Massive Open Online Courses)도 2016년 이후 한국어교육의 한 부분으로 자리잡게 되었다. 이와 같은 변화를 고려할 때 한국어교육 분야는 이제 다양한 한국어교육과정 개발뿐만 아니라 오프라인 환경에서 온라인 교육 환경으로 전환되고 있는 변화에 대처할 필요가 절실히 요구된다. This study is to examine the changes in Korean language learners through 60 years of Korean language education in the Korean Language Institute in Korea. Firstly, this examines the changes in Korean language learners by period since the late 1950s with a focus on learning purposes. Secondly, this explores the changes in learners' variables, such as region, gender, age, and proficiency level, by Korean language learners. Lastly, this is to identify the characteristics of Korean language learners since 2016 and to predict the tasks of Korean language education in the future. As a result, from the early 1960s to the late 70s, Korean learners were centered on missionaries to send the gospel, who had hard work in learning Korean language and Korean culture as well. After that to the end of 80s Korean learners for specific purposes came to Korea, such as Japanese learners for business or journalism. A significant change from the late 90s in the Korean language education population was in the proportion of Chinese Korean learners whose purpose lies in an academic purpose. The MOOC recently emerged as an alternative to higher education has got to be also a part of Korean Language Education since 2016. It suggests that we are not only to develop various Korean language curriculum but also cope with the transition from an offline environment to an online education environment.
