통합 전력품질 제어기의 과전류 보호방법에 관한 연구

        이우철,김한정 한국조명전기설비학회 2002 조명·전기설비학회논문지 Vol.16 No.5

A protection scheme for Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) is presented and analyzed in this paper. The proposed UPQC has the series active power filter operated as a high impedance k($\Omega$) to the fundamentals when the over current occurs in the power distribution system, and three control strategies are proposed in this paper. The first is the method by detecting the fundamental source current through the p-q theory,[1] the second is the method by detecting the fundamental component of load current in Synchronous Reference Frame(SRF) and the third is the method by detecting the input voltage. When the over current occurs in the power distribution system, the proposed scheme protects the UPQC without additional protection circuits. The validity of proposed protection scheme is investigated through simulation results.

Control Strategy for Selective Compensation of Power Quality Problems through Three Phase Four-Wire UPQC

        Yash Pal,A. Swarup,Bhim Singh 전력전자학회 2011 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.11 No.4

This paper presents a novel control strategy for selective compensation of power quality (PQ) problems, depending upon the limited rating of voltage source inverters (VSIs), through a unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) in a three-phase four-wire distribution system. The UPQC is realized by the integration of series and shunt active power filters (APFs) sharing a common dc bus capacitor. The shunt APF is realized using a three-phase, four-leg voltage source inverter (VSI), while a three-leg VSI is employed for the series APF of the three-phase four-wire UPQC. The proposed control scheme for the shunt APF, decomposes the load current into harmonic components generated by consumer and distorted utility. In addition to this, the positive and negative sequence fundamental frequency active components, the reactive components and harmonic components of load currents are decomposed in synchronous reference frame (SRF). The control scheme of the shunt APF performs with priority based schemes, which respects the limited rating of the VSI. For voltage harmonic mitigation, a control scheme based on SRF theory is employed for the series APF of the UPQC. The performance of the proposed control scheme of the UPQC is validated through simulations using MATLAB software with its Simulink and Power System Block set toolboxes.

A Single-Phase Unified Power Quality Conditioner with a Frequency-Adaptive Repetitive Controller

        Dang-Minh Phan,Hong-Hee Lee 대한전기학회 2018 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.13 No.2

This paper proposes a single-phase unified power quality conditioner (S-UPQC) for maintaining power quality issues in a microgrid. The S-UPQC can compensate the voltage and current harmonics, voltage sag, and swell as a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR), regardless of variations in the grid frequency. Odd harmonics are treated as even-order harmonics in a rotating frame to implement the harmonic compensators with only one repetitive controller (RC) without any harmonic extractor. The dynamic performance is improved and the delay time is reduced in the RC. The S-UPQC control scheme is designed to maintain accurate and stable operation under deviations of the grid frequency by using the Lagrange interpolation-based finite-impulse-response (LIFIR) filter approximation method. The proposed control schemes were validated through a simulation and experiment.

Asymmetrical SPWM‑based control scheme for BESS‑integrated UPQC with hybrid connected configuration

        Zhenqiang Zhang,Jianjun Zhao,Shen Liu,Hongbo Wang,Nan Wang,Peng Zhang,Yue Yu,Peng Xu 전력전자학회 2022 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.22 No.10

The unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) integrated with the battery energy storage system not only mitigates the power quality problems on the grid side and load side but also supplies active power to the load or the grid. The wide voltage variation of the battery and the high efficiency of the whole system can be achieved with the hybrid connected configuration, i.e., the battery is connected simultaneously to the series and shunt converters of the UPQC directly and indirectly through the dc–dc converter. However, the control and modulation strategies are the major challenges for this configuration. This study proposes a control scheme based on asymmetrical sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) to realize high-efficiency active power delivery, thereby addressing the issue above. The mechanism of the modulation scheme to regulate active power is revealed, and the voltage variation of the battery is considered. The modified SPWM strategy features easy implementation and a low computation burden. The effectiveness of the system with the proposed control and modulation schemes is verified by both simulation and experimental results.

Modelling and Performance Analysis of UPQC with Digital Kalman Control Algorithm under Unbalanced Distorted Source Voltage conditions

Venkatesh Kumar,Rajeswari Ramachandran 전력전자학회 2018 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.18 No.6

In this paper, the generation of a reference current and voltage signal based on a Kalman filter is offered for a 3-phase 4wire UPQC (Unified Power Quality Conditioner). The performance of the UPQC is improved with source voltages that are distorted due to harmonic components. Despite harmonic and frequency variations, the Kalman filter is capable enough to determine the amplitude and the phase angle of load currents and source voltages. The calculation of the first state is sufficient to identify the fundamental components of the current, voltage and angle. Therefore, the Kalman state estimator is fast and simple. A Kalman based control strategy is proposed and implemented for a UPQC in a distribution system. The performance of the proposed control strategy is assessed for all possible source conditions with varying nonlinear and linear loads. The functioning of the proposed control algorithm with a UPQC is scrutinized and validated through simulations employing MATLAB/Simulink software. Using a FPGA SPATRAN 3A DSP board, the proposed algorithm is developed and implemented. A small-scale laboratory prototype is built to verify the simulation results. The stated control scheme for the UPQC reduces the following issues, voltage sags, voltage swells, harmonic distortions (voltage and current), unbalanced supply voltage and unbalanced power factor under dynamic and steady-state operating conditions.

        최준호,Choi, Joon-Ho 한국조명전기설비학회 2004 조명·전기설비학회논문지 Vol.18 No.6

The AC railway system is quite differing from the general electric power system because it is single- phase and intermittently heavy loads. Thus, inevitably power quality problems are occurred in the AC railway system, i.e. voltage regulation voltage sags, voltage imbalance, and harmonic distortion. Recently, the power quality of the AC railway system becoming a hot issue because it is affect the control and safety of high-speed traction. In addition it is also affect the power quality of the electric power system. In this paper, single-phase Unified Power Quality Conditioner(UPQS) for the AC railway system is proposed to compensate the voltage sags and harmonic distortion. The configurations and control schemes of the proposed single-phase UPQC are presented. The effectiveness of the proposed single-phase UPQC application is verified by the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation works. It can be shown that the application of UPQC in the AC railway system is very useful to compensate the voltage sags and harmonic distortion from the results of related simulation works.
